The only issue I have is that Gilbert was rumored to be in on a ton of moves over the past 12 (or so) months.. so the market was there for him. I just figured he alone could've probably netted a 35 year old set up guy.
Gilbert's value seemed much higher before the season started but he was never thought of as a super prospect then.

He was rumored in a bunch of moves cuz he seemed expendable and was a top OF prospect of ours but after Jett of course and Benge leapfrogged ahead of Gilbert as well. Gilbert is 2 years older than Benge and 3 years older than Jett.

Tyler Rodgers is pretty damn good, but as a pure rental...I think Giants won that trade on paper

Tidwell made his debut this year, but he was barely pushing our top 10 pitchers in the minors, so he was expendable. Good fast ball.. struggles with control on his secondary pitches tho.

Gilbert used to be a Met darling. He was supposed to be next, but has gotten passed up in the past 2 years. Plays 2nd and CF.

Butto is a reliable arm in the pen, but has taken a step back this year.

Another thing either the Mets really believe in their young pitchers for this year or they really need to get another SP imo.

Need a starter who can eat innings and a bat badly. Don't care how good Rogers is, if they have to run him out there every other day between now and Sept. we're cooked.
