Eh, it's on the players. Who should they have gotten
Should've gotten a starter and/or a real bat. Rotation was put together with hopes and dreams and overachieved the first two months. No starting rotation has been this bad getting past the 5th in over a hundred years :gucci:

That's not my job, but we all know what the definition of insanity is. We have exactly one pitcher who can get into the sixth inning. You don't understand how insane that is?
It's easy to say do better especially when you don't have one idea yourself how it could have been done better.
I don't think anyone of quality was available without overpaying. I don't want to mortgage future seasons for this one. Especially the way our best players are performing.

I think it was the right move to let Sacramento overpay for Sevi, but Stearns should have reacquired him at the deadline. He averaged nearly 6ip a start last year following a long string of injuries and is averaging nearly the same this year. I don't feel like looking at stats, but only Peterson could say the same here. Ground ball pitcher with an amazing infield defense, he would have feasted here.

I don't know what Sacramento would require, but it seemed like Stearns over thought it. He's not a game 1 pitcher, but he's a solid pitcher who won't burn out the pen; exactly what we need.

Didn't watch the entire series, but Mendy was fukking up left and right. Marte is a fast guy and had a nice game, but you can't leave the fastest guy on the bench and lose by having the guy get thrown out at the plate. Nimmo has been dogshyt this Aug, yet let's have him bat behind our best player. Could have thrown McNeil between Solo and Pete if you wanted a lefty there.

Montrash also needs to be left behind or thrown in the injuried list.

Also, for the love of God, call somebody up from Syracuse. We don't have rookie deGrom down there, but we just need him to be better than Montrash and hopefully make it into the 6th.

I'm not paid to build the roster. Stearns is. He gambled the rotation would be able to right the ship and it blew up in his face. :francis:
