Stearns masterclass, don't add a SP at the deadline, then rely on 3 rookies to save the season.

This cac lowkey pissed me off. Watch this fukk boy let Pete walk, then convince us the team will be a contender next year with 4 rookie SP(Sproat, Tong, McClean, Scott) and Ryan Clifford at 1B. :pacspit:
Can't exactly anticipate Montas being as bad as he was and then needing Tommy John, Megill also needing Tommy John, Manaea hardly being pitchable coming from injury and Senga completely losing it. Even getting one of those arms probably cost one of the young arms in the rotation rn lol.

But that's when you get when you do "on the margins" acquisitions. Manea/Severino were that in 2024, and it obviously worked. However, the lone "on the margins" guy was Montas, and he faltered.

The point is next year, you have to get a proven good SP(maybe 2). As great as McClean(and to a lesser degree Sproat), you can't expect him to be great next year, as young players go thru peaks and valleys. Looking at next year, the only SP who's been good the last two years is Peterson, and even he has been ass in the last two months(before he was dominant til July).

The Mets have a surplus of young MLB infielders, build a trade package around Mauricio and Christian Scott for Mitch Keller. Keller isn't a star, but he does several things the Mets desperately need.

He has consistently posted up 30+ starts in the last 3 years; Keller eats up innings(170IP avg over 3 years), and he's going to give you competitive starts(hardly any 3/4 innings games with 4 ER :mjlol:)

Peterson has blown past his career high in innings by almost 50. He's gassed. Will be interesting to see how next year goes for him.

If Manaea didn't tweak something I don't know why you wouldn't let him finish the game. Instead you waste Helsley?:dahell: Really need McLean to go 7 tomorrow.:francis:

Canning, Megill and Montrash out for the season. Senga and Manaea ineffective and missed a ton of time. Clay and Peterson hit the wall hard.

Who knew the pitching would completely collapse after Senga got hurt?

Torrens 6 and Acuña starting? What are we doing here? At least we should get a good Lindor/Acuña double play

They are going defense now for McLean.
Predicting Alvarez getting embarrassed by PCA last nite is going to get him traded. Stearns doesn't tolerate his lack of intensity on defense that's why he got sent down.
No matter what happens expect major changes to the lineup next year.
