basically is says illmatic made EAST COAST RAPPERS rap better, but the article actually doesnt list how naS was rapping better than niccaz of that era. Only good song on Thug Life Vol 1 was Under pressure (Pac was rapping is ass off on that one), and maybe Don't Get It Twisted.

The KONY was a big deal back then. You personally may not have cared, but your personal opinion is irrelevant. I think it's a valid point to say that the strength of Illmatic jump started the whole concept. Although BIG was the king after RTD dropped. Thus Nas' subtle dig on the message in 1996.

What I'm saying is there's nothing to disagree with. The article is titled how illmatic changed hip hop, but then doesnt go about showing how. It mentions an effect it had on EAST COAST rap, which is debatable considering in '91 Treach was already rapping better than '94 naS. Literally NOTHING in that article is about music or writing or rapping better than shyt that was out at that point in time.

As I already showed. naS was more influenced by the better rappers of that era which can clearly be seen in his best effort IWW.
