if you would've watched the interview Hot 97 did with Riff Raff, Ebro spent the entirety of it.... questioning everything about Riff Raff...shyt from his Tattoo's, to his upbringing, how his image is perceived by white america to how "serious" he is about his music and all that.

i don't think dude once asked him about any of the projects he's working on, his influences or anything conducive to holding a good interview where somebody who didn't know too much about dude, would've learned some shyt about him.

dude was genuinely infuriated that a white rapper, who's from houston gained a following of fans cause he's just being openly goofy and only wants to have fun...and isn't in the mold of a Rosenberg or a Macklemore.

he'd probably would've pressed Paul Wall about the same shyt when Still Tippin dropped.

but the way he chooses to have fun and be openly goofy plays into a lot of popular stereotypes. mainly, white ppl entering varying degrees of blackface and "acting ghetto".

i'm not saying that's what riff raff is doing. not saying i agree with everything ebro said in the interview. but i 100% understand where he's coming from. the first time i saw riff raff, i had the same feeling.

imo that whole conversation represents some of the generation gaps that are present in the old school and new guard. and it's not just hip hop.

religion, sexuality, race... these things dont inspire the same... clear cut points of view, or emotions, for this generation. and i dont mean that in a bad way. but because this generation is just so desensitized, and have access to so many taboo things at an earlier age, they're more open to being... open. especially when it comes to topics we were taught u HAD to choose a side of the fence on.

there are positives and negatives to that mindstate. but bottom line: they dont approach these things with the same perspective dudes like ebro got from his parents/grandparents. they dont see the harm because among their generation, there is none. they dont subscribe to our logic. even as the world around them struggles to make sense of these very real issues. i commend them for it, and shake my head at the same time.

now someone from houston correct me if im wrong.. but aint riff raff really from the hood ?

and if he is from the hood hes part of the small % of white rappers actually from the hood and id rather hear him do goofy n fun shyt than tryna hear machine gun kelly tryna act hard knowing that he grew up on rock n roll and country..

machine gun kelly said the first rapper he ever heard was DMX :dahell: hes like 24 years old :dahell: but he wanna be a rapper huh :mjpls:

but we got a problem with riff raff who ive heard some houston people on here say hes really from the hood and he just tryna have fun out there, but now he stereotyping "acting ghetto" :childplease: if he from the ghetto and wanna be a weirdo let him cook then

by the way i dont fukk with ti or riff raff music they both corny as fukk to me

TI in that video lookin like a straight hypebeast but he tryna hate on how else someone else look :usure:

I like T.I and Riff Raft

I'm sure T.I. hasn't heard much of his music but even if he did I could understand why he wouldn't be a fan...

Riff Raff cool but lets not act like he isn't the latest Hip hop troll... he should just sit back and laugh at anybody dissing him. Is he saying that since T.I. is wearing a Neon shirt he is fan?

Man he just needs to get back in the lab and make another banger like this one..
