Anything that has millions of subscribers is profitable\valuable

You have a simplistic way of looking at business models. Rhapsody is not profitable. Spotify barely turned a profit this year. They have to pay to license the music and they have to pay the record labels per stream. Most of these streaming companies generate millions in revenue, but operating costs eats up most if not all of the revenue.

Vania Schlogal is the Senior Exec. At TIDAL who made that statement

She is a Goldman & Sachs alumnus so there is a lot of Smoke N Mirrors when their "people" are involved....

They got a mean finesse game when it comes to corporate takeovers and shareholder interests....they already got thier hands in Spotify....

Sound Reasoning
Well I would assume the streaming media AS stands for the parent company ASPIRO. Which makes sense seeing as it its the parent company

Edit. A quick google search confirms this. http://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=241376076

See at the bottom. Aspiro acquired this holding company in january 2015.

Jay owns aspiro as indicated on aspiros own website and news reports. At the bottom of aspiros webpage is a public notice about them being bought by project panther bidco which is jays foreign owned subsidiary of S. Carter enterprises.

Boyce owes Jay an apology for spreading false info. He should havd fact checked first. Even in his video he claims he doesnt know the details but thats after spending 12 minutes attacking jay. Boyce is no different than fox news at this point.

Goldman sachs only owns 0.5% of Aspiro as listed on aspiros own website.

http://www.aspiro.com/aspiro-group/investor-relations/share-and-stockholders/shareholders/

Based on this Aspiro controls 76% of it own shares. Its listed as "streaming media AS"

It's not hate. It's facts.

Maybe you hate facts? I'm a well known fan of Jay's but this era down right laughable at times watching the young bros argue inaccuracies and falsified claims

Tidal isn't black business

Neither is live nation

Let's argue about something fruitful

Live Nation is publically traded. How could anyone think it is a "black" business?

In the Silver Lining
I know Jigga is annoyed by it.. He has to be. It's got to be annoying looking in the mirror after sitting in one of those meetings knowing their getting majority percentage and you're still getting your million but fronting for your fan base like you're a majority owner

The old paper is probably tickled by that.. On some:

"he really thinks he's on of us"

"look at him bragging to his kind like he's really in our circle"

If you think I'm tripping pull Donald Sterling's emails from last year or those Sony leaks

CACs in positions of power talk like this about the Obamas, Denzel, Spike

What makes Jay special :mjlol:

Its a tricky thing...................who is more genuine Spike Lee or Tariq Nasheed?????????? Both attempt to bring black issues to the forefront through film.....

Tariq is more or less self-made.
Spike had to ride the coattails of getting "into" the larger industry to be where he is today.

Yet....is one better than the other, b/se they took different routes to get to the same destination?

Speaking of which Spike and Tariq should put together something. More collabo.................less babble :sas2:

Simple is the best way to look at business... and only people whom are not in business or sales try to complicate it.

Youtube isn't "profitable" but has a valuation of 40 billion

Twitter isn't "profitable" but has a valuation of 20 billion

The streaming music business model is such a loser that mega companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, and Google are dying to get in and lose 10s of millions along with Spotify, Raphosdy, and the rest of them....... :stopitslime:

Everybody streams music and its the preferred way to listen to music around the globe...... and there's money to be had from that....... major money

The issue is cutting out the middle man to a degree, which are the record labels.. and the first streaming service to accomplish that will be :stylin:

You don't have any facts tho....... so there's nothing to argue...... You can say that Tidal is not a "black" company.... but A black man most certainly has a huge piece of ownership and influence in said company....

You have no idea of what you are talking about. Valuation is only "valuable" if the buyer agrees with your valuation. You can value your at 20 Billion but if buyer does not then it's pointless. Valuation is what ruined the dot.com era. A company can have a valuation of 20 billion with little to no revenue being generated towards profit. You are either a stan or an idiot to believe that Jay Z can eliminate record labels through Tidal. He doesn't have the power, money or influence to take out a UMG which owns most of the labels. If you don't own the distribution market then you are dead in the water.

You don't know what you are talking about. The difference between Amazon, Apple and Google is that streaming will never be their sole source of revenue. The companies you listed can float a failing or non profitable revenue service because it's not their main source of revenue. Tidal is just that...Tidal. Pandora is profitable because they have a limited amount of licenses and lower operating costs. Rhapsody, who Tidal is most similar....is not a profitable company. They have operating revenue cash flow but they are not profitable and they only have a pay tier.

Stopped reading after that....... and you still didn't address the youtube and twitter scenarios.... and I said eliminate the middle man "to a degree"

And as far as the Amazon, Google, M$, and apple being ecosystems and not relying on streaming as a main income..... NO shyt nikka!!!!

They became these huge entities by not engaging in lose lose situations......... Hence, they see huge financial potential in streaming music......

You started to look funny in the light....

Then let's stop with this misinformation. It's really makes us look ignorant like we're choosing to ignore facts despite well known

Facts....

Love me some Jay but this looks like every other endorsement deal where hedge fund investors go pick a popular nigggger entertainer who is more hip (direct appeal to the masses) offer them 2% of the company stake which is millions (not billions) and go make the nigggggger shuck

We can't rap, dance, sing, or show our bootyholes for the masses to sell our great idea but you can niggggger.. That's what you niggggeers do..

Sing

Shuck

Dance

And show your booty holes from some of massa's paper

are you saying this is another NETS situation :ld:

He's right. Boyce, Tariq, etc. are all the same dude. Only you guys take them serious. I'm looking at Boyce and wondering how a professor can use such poor reasoning all the time. Perfect example of how somene can be smart at one thing and an idiot at others.
They're not gonna like this breh :iseeu:
