If streaming is the future why would Tidal die? I bet somebody would buy that shyt if it’s up for sale. Maybe somebody wants it to do bad because it’s connected to Jay Z then they can swoop in and buy it. I’m not a big fan of streaming but I’m cool with Tidal. It’s not a bad service to me.

Streaming can be a money pit.
Google is using search money to fund YouTube. And YouTube aunt gotta worry about royalties.

All that said music is less storage than video and brothers in the hood got that much music on CD-Rs from 2002.

Tidal probably got a bad bandwidth and/or royalty deal to artist! Netflix was charging $9.99 for video and was doing good...tidal is pretty much music.

It's not Cacs man. Black people like to see others fail. Why? I don't know.
Tesla losing money Amazon losing money. Why we ridicule our own for trying.

That's different...they losing money scaling as they are undercutting competition especially in the case of Amazon.

Tidal is not driving down prices! They charge Netflix prices for music, lol.

Good counterpoint.
My point t is that Jay and em are trying something. Might fail. But blacks are so ingrained with looking cool we ridicule each other for that.

It's gonna be bought and Hov will cash out. Gonna end up being a huge win for him. The streaming infrastructure is very lucrative, and corporations would rather acquire one than build their own. See: Apple buying Beats Music.

Exactly....besides this article is propaganda.......

Tidal is being backed by the Richest man in Japan....

Mayososhi Son who plans on pumping more cash into his venture finance funds for tech and media companies like Tidal

Maybe the model is broken when you don't have other profitable business to subsidize cost...hmm. :ohhh:

Others are part of an ecosystem like Google play music & apple music that can take hits. They are operating minimal price. Spotify needs to double it's price and hope to keep more than 1/2 it's paid subs which is unlikely cause apple & Google don't need to raise prices....or Spotify needs to cut royalties in 1/2 and hope not to lose artist.

Music royalty cost must be crazy! Then you got tidal wanting to pay artist more money than others, lol. Netflix is profitable...Spotify is not. Why is streaming video more profitable than music!?!?

But it's a bad business. Jay-Z said he wanted to pay artist more money!!!....when the biggest cost to Pandora & Spotify is royalties, lol. Did jay really do his due diligence research as in a Google search?

Jay must have hoped to build up user and sell it to a company so it could be part of an ecosystem since the streaming music model doesn't work stand alone. However selling to a big company isn't a black business of influence. People saw it as a money flip....not a black tech business to get us into silicon valley and they been right so far about Jay-Z

Why Music Streaming Might Be a Lousy Business
