Tidal vs Spotify

Is it worth it to switch to Tidal at this point or is it still not up to par with Spotify?

I've been on my homegirl's Spotify account for the longest (We share each other's HBO GO and Netflix and Spotify) and been thinking about trying out Tidal for a change.

Not just to change but also perhaps support a black business since Jay-Z is part owner.

I remember when Tidal first came out i tried it But the lack of Diversity in its music library was a deal breaker for me back then.

I switched from Spotify to Tidal about a year ago and it has been upgraded significantly to the point where they are almost at parity. Some huge things you will miss are the ability to sort songs in a playlist on mobile and Spotify connect.

It's better on tidal besides the sound they offer concerts and other events .. And it's partly black owned

I get Tidal for free with Sprint and I pay for Spotify Premium.

I like the My Mix feature of Tidal. It's dead on in it's prediction of music I like and assembling playlists. I like the fact that the albums you save and the songs you save are separate so you don't have a bunch of albums in your list that just have 1 or 2 songs like Spotify. I like the artist page that list a bunch of their popular songs.

On Spotify I like the discovery and ability to browse Facebook friend's playlist and just search anybody's playlist in general.

TBH I probably use Spotify way more than Tidal but I like both and use both almost daily. I wouldn't want just one of them. I got an app on my iPhone that can sync playlist between them as well. I guess if I had to pick one I'd likely pick Spotify but Tidal if it did a few more things would be equal to Spotify.

Spotify connect is the GOAT streaming music feature. Listening on one device and controlling the music on another. Also Tidal doesn't have a dedicated Apple Watch app but Spotify does. Tidal needs that.

Streaming music starting to bother me especially when I see an album missing that I like. I own most of Jay's catalog on CD so it hasn't bothered me. Spotify really provides more than enough music and low-key is my go to for podcasts now.

Yeah Tidal doesn't have anywhere near the international music library that Spotify has.

Spotify has lots of Zouk and Konpa but lately I've been heavy into Zouglou and I doubt Tidal had that either.
