I posted this in the other thread...you didn't answer so let me post it again, just in case you missed it:

What Regular P was ludicrous. Period. To play golf at a professional level & to win tournaments, multiple tournaments (5 wins on tour last yr) requires a TON of mental toughness. You can't pick & choose when you want to give Tiger credit for being mentally tough. Yea he was #1 in the world & was winning tournaments, but b/c he hasn't won a major since the incident, he's not mentally tough? It's a dumb argument that got compounded because Regular P decided to interject Kobe Bryant & his rape trial as some sort of barometer for how to be mentally tough for professional athletes. Then here you come, cape flapping in the wind, trying to defend this nonsense when there's no validity to it.

Can you say that the personal issues spilled into Tiger's game. Yea at first. Don't forget that he finished 2nd at the Masters following the incident when he had only played a couple tournaments since the situation had happened.

BTW, I teach & play golf. I know how tough it is. You ever played a round of golf in your life? Swung a golf club? If the answer is no, your opinion on this is invalid.

You always get more viewers when the champ has a challenger as opposed to just running completely over everyone. That goes for any sport. So yeah the media was trying to trump up some of these other golfers but that isnt because they have something against Tiger, they just want you to think there is some competition so it drives the ratings higher. Tiger against a hyped up Phil and Rory in the final round would draw much more excitement than Tiger against nobody.

And back to Rory. Leaving the golf course over a fake tooth issue is a wee bit less news than cheating on your wife with over 20 women, some of them porn stars, having your wife chase you with a golf club which causes you to crash your truck, all from a guy with a squeaky clean image. It would be like it coming out that Tim Tebow had 2 kids with Kelly Divine and cheated on her with Brian Pumper.

If Tiger plays another 7 to 10 years he'll definitely get Sam Sneads record and probably Jack's too. But after looking at former greats bios I noticed most golfers only seem to play for 15 or 16 years. I would have thought golf was one sport where you could thrive while you are still in your late 40's to early 50's. Though I don't know a lot about the sport to keep it real.
