Did you know more tigers are alive in Texas than there are in Asia?

Me and my girl took the kids to a Tiger and Lion sanctuary out in Wylie a few weeks ago, the kids loved it they didn't realize how big they really are up close, especially tigers. Tigers and lions have the same dimensions as far as height and length, but a tiger is WAAAY more muscular and stockier.

I think the average tiger outweighs the average lion by like 200 lbs

What's the Jaguar population in Texas? I know they used to be out there then they were kinda pushed out. I always thought it was dope that they were the only big 4 cats natural to the Americas

As far as I know they will spot one occasionally down by the border with Mexico, but otherwise there aren't any.

That is really sad

I get sanctuaries and reservations,
It's likely their natural habitats are no longer
Honestly keeping them in captivity is going to ensure their species survival. Tigers aren't a species that ever will adapt to co exist alongside humans like that so their numbers have taken a huge hit the past century or so.
