I love tik tok. The videos are nice and short, as opposed to long YouTube videos. I can get a variety of stuff based on my algorithm. I can spend more time over there than on here.
This has nothing to do with the national security committee which is the (most) bi partisan committee questioning TikTok. You're not wrong regarding the threat of AI but it's a complete strawman argument. And they aren't "playing grandstanding with this tik tok guy doing nothing really". Really weird way to describe this hearing.
I must have heard them describe that committee as ‘a national security committee’, because a congressman (i think georgia) said that verbatim. Facts are facts though.

To be honest I'm 90% sure the outcome will be a non-issue like facebook, twitter, etc. I'm sure those people on the committee maybe have some overlap with security, but again I'm pretty certain they'll let Tiktok go on because they're not doing anything dramatically different from what other companies are already doing.
Again, I'm just concerned these people are putting all this focus on Tiktok while A.I is wrecking shop right now in our country.
