He didn’t write, he just rapped what was written for him, but his persona alone and how he lived true to himself is what made him a legend, and his songs are classics, Boyz in the hood is probably a top 10 rap song as far as impact goes

That's the thing. Ice Cube had a point, Dre is doing the beats, Ren, Cube, and D.O.C are writing the lyrics but they all get paid like shyt. It wasn't like Easy-E wanted to be a rapper at first, NWA made way of making him a rap icon.
