watched this with my 11 year old last night

:dwillhuh::dwillhuh:

I loved this movie when I was little ..watching now it was okay..
Edward > this

My whole time watching it I was thinking how the hell they let kids watch this back in the day

My lil girl must have liked it because the Blu-ray i rented came with some episodes of the cartoons she stayed up watching them while I went to sleep

Winona was looking good tho
I hope she wasn’t getting me too back in the day :sadcam:

right!!

I use to watch weekend at bernies, porky's, Police Academy, loverboy, Bachelor Party, Spaceballs everytime they came on lol
fukking Porkies :russ:Those movies were a staple of my childhood. Add in Penitentiary 1 and 2 and you pretty much got my childhood lineup... with various Death Wishes sprinkled in:smugdraper:

Rewatching now before I see the sequel later...this movie is so silly :mjlol:. Keaton is great, just unhinged.

And idk if I ever realized how horny Juice was...dude immediately kisses the wife, he upskirts the stepmom, he's creeping on Delia, he builds/goes into a strip club in the model he's living in...dude his goin for it :heh:

That and I didn't realized how similarly it is shot as other burton movies like Edward Scissorhands and Pee Wee's Big Adventure (a SUPER classic btw).

Lidia is also the OG goth girl lol

Sequel is a mess but if you love Beetlejuice I don't blame ya for checking it out. Just dont expect Part 1 level hilarity.

Heading out to catch the matinee for the new one in a couple minutes. Not expecting much, but looking forward to seeing keaton and ryder onscreen, if not for anything but some nostalgia. It's weird how all the huge actors and actresses of yesteryear are all but forgotten these days.

Watched the OG last night and the new one today.

It was a fun movie, but I can't help compare it to the OG. It didn't have the charm and cohesiveness that the OG had. The new one in itself is very fun, but like the other breh said don't come with expectations expecting it to hold its own to the oG.

They should have had the original house play a more prominent role in the story of this new one. Also, i wonder why they gave the Olivia’s dad so much of a place in the movie instead of just explaining how he died in the beginning (the original actor that played him is jeffrey jones who was convicted of several child pornography charges a few years back)

The only thing I can think of is that they wanted his presence looming over everything, specifically with Catherine O'Hara's Delia Deetz and Lydia, for he is the anchor for them both. And they probably felt that it couldn't provide the same gravitas without a body.

Word. Another terrible decision in an already very messy movie.
