Those are not NBA officials. They're hired goons to sway your opinion. Commentators, especially JVG, have a tendency to speak with their emotion, not their pragmatic mind.

VanGundy laughs off the superstar treatment for the most part and even if this were not the case, it doesn't nullify the fact that it's openly acknowledged that certain players get special treatment. It doesn't have to be current NBA refs. They can't expose the league they work for.

So star players dont get preferential treatment in the NBA ? :beli:
Not what I'm saying. The comment was that it's "openly acknowledged," when the NBA denies it with extreme prejudice. It happens, less than people complain about, but its not some open and accepted practice by the league.

If this is true, then the Lakers are going to get the #1 draft pick.

(BTW....I BEEN believed this was true about the NBA, dating back to when the Knicks got the #1 pick and Patrick Ewing)

NBA does love that big city NY-LA spotlight. But TDot is on the rise as well. That's a big f*cking international city now. Heat-Raptors isn't bad at all imo

What am I lookin at here?

If you have to ask, it explains why some of you are naive about the league possibly influencing these games. :mjpls:

Non-a$$hole answer: Scott Foster.

If you care to learn more, google his name and put two and two together.

I know who he is, Im not familiar with many faces.
I see what you're getting at, but when they were "cool" I think Donaghy was still in the league. My time line is pretty shytty on the situation. Now, even tho it's 100% possible Foster is leaking info, why would he do it to the dude that stays on the radio giving info?
If it were true, he could pretty much get the same treatment as TD, as far as the banishment.
Again, Im not saying the league isn't forcing the games one way or another, thats a whole nother argument, but realistically, I don't think Donaghy is getting any real insider info.

I would think the Raps have a bigger fanbase, and the league has been wanting a Canadian team to be hot since Toronto and Vancouver came into the league. The Nets have a bunch of older players, and the Raps are full of young guns. I dont see how it would benefit the league more for Brooklyn to win.

Hell I could be wrong, but I just dont see it that way.

Long story short: BK vs Miami is a bigger draw than Toronto vs. Miami.

There's more of a storyline there.

I don't think ratings are the only reason games are rigged, but I do believe refs have knowledge in some situations about which team is going to win what games. I doubt they're all gambling on them though.

Lebron has a crazy winning record though when Foster refs games I think. Miami was like 15-2 at one point when he was reffing. Forget what the numbers were but it was strange.

Plus when spreads come into play I think some of them fukk around, and with the totals also.
