Kobe being the best SG at 35 >>> Duncan being the best big man in this weak ass era of big men

:skip:at 17 and 9 = being the best big man in the league

This is also a weak ass era for sg's

After wade, kobe, and manu who are all three battling injuries and age. all you really have is james harden. the rest are garbage and never will be candidate for the allstar team or all nba over any the many good point guards. Of those 4 only two are first ballad HOF's (Kobe and Wade) Manu is a fringe HOF, might take him years to get in and harden could just as easily fall off when another alpha dog signs to his team.

Past 5 years? Hell nah...you had people saying Tyson Chandler almost deserved MAX MONEY for being a damn role player.

As far as the Kobe argument goes? You guys simply look at stats way too much when it comes to these arguments and don't realize the impact of the game. Its been known that bigs break down much faster than guards and given the fact that Duncan knew what he had to do...and actually DID IT to regain his spot at the top is easier said than done. Losing 30lbs in their mid to late 30's would have done wonders for Barkley, Ewing, and SHAQ but they didn't do it. That's why being the top big at 37 is insane in ANY era. Garnett is the same age and DOES have a big impact in the game, but not like Duncan...and its because of his inside game.

Now back to the argument at hand. In the past 3 regular seasons Kobe has shot the ball 2000 times more than Tim Duncan, Obviously controls the ball more as he is a guard and as a result has a pretty impressive statline. However you have to look at the overall impact...Kobe is ALWAYS going to get his. His inflated numbers don't have much of an overall impact when it comes to spacing on the court...this has always been the case.

I hate breaking these things down because you guys simply don't understand what it is to have a dominant post player on your favorite team anymore (post shaq).

Watch the NBA finals starting tonight and let me know what you guys see. I bet you this...Whenever Tim Duncan grabs the ball, pay attention to the eyes that gravitate to the basket as a result...its always 3 and sometimes even FOUR players who stay in between the guard and Duncan watching to see what Duncan does.

Take a look at this video below, this has been the story of Tim Duncan since the 90's...you guys don't understand the game of basketball and what impact really means if you don't understand what I am trying to tell you.

This is why I don't post here as much as you guys do. Simple logic in your mind is...well Duncan is only putting up 13-8 compared to Kobe's 26-5-6 of course Kobe is better. I am not mad at any of you Kobe stans tho as you guys have been conditioned to believe whatever ESPN and YouTube clips show you. The Jordan comparisons never helped either, because he has been elevated to a level that I don't think he should have been IMO. The facts are facts, a dominant big with a post game always wins the argument...except for a player who used to wear number 23 back in Chicago and LeBron James.

Also, Kobe never won a damn thing without dominant or bigs who demanded a great deal of attention down low, but lets of course gloss over that because Kobe is still putting up 26-5-5 at 34...and has no achilles tendon in his left leg as a result.

I think there are more quality bigs than there are SG's. Just beacuse there isn't 2-3 dominant guys in the league at the same time doesn't mean they aren't good players. :manny: then again i said bigs so im talking bout PF too(Since thats the position Timmy plays). If you want to talk about centers i'll give Dwight,Brook,Marc,Bynum(Healthy). 3 out of 4 of those guys are good offensive post players and u prolly could switch out Noah,Hibbert and Jefferson. The best you can give me at the SG position is Kobe,Wade(Healthy),Harden then who else really? Jr Smith? Klay?

Edit: And im not gnna even get into the PF :whoa:

This being undefeated in the finals argument is dumb. How is losing before the finals better than losing in the finals? Makes no sense.

5 rings out of 7 Final appearances is better than going 5 out of 5 in the finals. No matter how you cut it.

Spurs fans do you agree with me now? :mjpls:

Duncan going 4 of 5 is BETTER than going 4 of 4.

Don't listen to that idiot SAS.
