He needs to go to the bullpen if he doesn't have a great turn around after the all star break.

Last night proved that he still has something left, but probably best in 3 inning appearances. He will probably still get into the hof, but the giants should do this to extend his career...he is smaller than Pedro Martinez so that should worry them about longevity

Starter goes for 5-6
Tim goes for 2-3
Then closer

That should be happening 2-3x a week

He can still have a great career if he figures out how to adjust to the decline in velocity he's had over the past few years. Its a big if, but not impossible.

:dwillhuh: you can count on 1 maybe 2 hands pitchers whose had a better career than Tim Lincecum so what do you mean he can still have a great career if adjusts a few things? He's already had a great career :salute:

:heh: at a 2 time cy young winner, 2 time world series champion and the best pitcher for years still needs to adjust to have a great career :heh:

Great Career? He's been pitching for fukking 7 years. Stop acting like dude is some 38 year old. Y'all overrating the shyt out of him. He's had two elite seasons out of 7. You'd think it was Gregg Maddux y'all were talking about.

you should be ashamed of padres fans, every giants game at petco its like 2/3 of the stadium is giants fans :bryan:

*makes excuse about the weather being too nice in San Diego to attend baseball games*

All I know is going to see a game at Petco is a good time and folks still don't go. Don't think fans will go until the team starts winning and I don't think the team will start winning until Fowler starts spending money and I just don't see that happening. According to the payroll list here every single team that spends less than us has a better record except for Miami and Houston. So maybe it isn't about the money.

ok great, we still got people saying that a 29 year old without any major arm injuries is better off converting into a long relief pitcher, which is what I was disputing. the point I was making was that he can continue to be a starting pitcher, perhaps even an ace again, if he makes the proper adjustment.

He has only had 3 elite and 1 good season. That's not exactly automatic HOF worthy. The case for Timmy is that he has 2 Cy Young awards and he has 2 rings as well. He needs to go to the pen to keep that overall ERA down because if he keeps this up and his career ERA is going to go up past 4 in 2-3 years. That is terrible considering how he started his career.

He doesn't even have 100 career wins yet

*lights one up for Timmy*

And Timmy ain`t no damn Hall of Famer yet. Johan Santana was a HOF before his no hitter. Timmy still has some work to do to make it to that status.

Just because I`m saying that he is not a HOF, is not me trying to insult him. There are tons of players with great careers who were not HOF worthy.
