what artists did timbaland boost or blow up in the game? I'm talking more legitimate rappers with albums that ring bells.

he even had his own label with a few legit talents. and they got nowhere.

you gotta ask these sort of things before you start throwing rankings around.
Why do i have to ask these sort of questions about tim when Pete has done nothing much himself in that aspect? But we know whom has more hits despite hiphop only being a fraction of his work.

Why is it a problem? It's not like the dudes that failed to make hits, werent signed to majors and having their songs marketed to radio

who failed to make hits?

you keep creating these strawman arguments to fuel your agenda. I see you.

are you talking about pete rock again? because he has plenty of hits without the bubblegum.

Whatever, Timb was partially a hiphop producer and still outdid Pete rock

why do you keep arguing with me about pete rock?

and how did he outdo pete rock? because he makes records tailored towards commercial radio?

but we're arguing about hip-hop production. we already established that timbaland is big time in other genres. like I said, hes not even a hip-hop guy. he just eased into hip-hop because of his drums.

and yes, you absolutely have to ask those sort of questions. theyre VITAL. absolutely vital. I shouldn't even have to tell you this. and lol @ pete not doing much himself in that aspect. you came to school without doing your homework.

You dont get it,I'm saying despite hiphop only being a fraction of tim's work,HE STILL HAS MORE HIPHOP HITS THAN PETE.

In Tim's case, you can say yeah, he def. mostly makes music that aims to hit radio... but you cant say that without also mentioning that he himself changed the sound of commercial radio. He jumped out there when nothing on the radio sounded like 'One in A Million' or 'Pony'. He had a lot to do with how radio came to sound like that in the first place. He didn't jump out there in '96 sampling old rap records for R&B artists to sing on, because that was the standard at the time. Just like the Neptunes didn't sound like what was on radio when they kicked off... their sound was what would BECOME the standard. I can't really say I saw a song like 'Super Thug' becoming a hit in the middle of that era, but it did...

this post is all about r&b.

and timbaland's sound wasn't as brand new as people like to make it out to be. but again, that's off-topic.

cmon man. youre smarter than this.

by that logic, I guess dj mustard & lil jon are some goats too.

the fact that youre aiming you aggressions at pete rock is also ridiculous. the guys who name-dropped people like madlib & j.dilla made more sense and with 1 sentence, they got across the point you've been trying to make all thread.

I'm curious to know where you timbaland supporters rank a guy like teddy riley.

if timbaland is top 5, then where does teddy rank? cuz teddy produced seminal rap records. I didn't even mention early that he produced THE SHOW!!!

whats timbaland's biggest claim? big pimpin?:mjlol:
