Cleveland issue is simple. Disappointments. We us, we don't have disappointments. We have clowns and frauds.
Matt Ryan is a clown and a fraud.
Joe Johnson is a fraud.
Michael Vick was a fraud.
The Braves are a fraud and always look like one stat wise every year.
So you can't be disappointed with frauds and clowns.
We rarely have contending teams. Ever.
Cleveland is disappointing.
Lebron
The 80's Cavs which was as good as anyone.
The Indians in the mid 90's.
The Browns have been failures so they don't count.
Manny left Cleveland on top of his game.
C.C. left Cleveland on top of his game.
So did Bron.
Ohio State has been disappointing. Dominates the Big Ten to get crushed by the SEC more times than not.
Different markets. Atlanta rarely has been disappointed except for maybe Michael Vick.
The rest, everyone in the nation knew was frauds except homers in our fanbase.
I would say D12 and CP3 not coming to Atlanta was disappointing for me but most in our base never seen that happening anyway.
Until Atlanta lands the Wiggins, Embiid's, Parker's, Mike Trout's, Aaron Rodgers' of the world, we have nothing to be disappointed about.
I can get on board for everything You said. Nice honest breakdown. But what do you define as disappointment? I always look to championships or extended success in the playoffs. For instance, recently I've appreciated our Tigers and Wings. Lions always manage to disappoint and the Pistons have been there a few times.
I'm not being facetious when I say it, But Cleveland and Atlanta are on the same level as far as expectations.
I agree the Hawks have a decent squad. And it would be a pleasant surprise to see them make noise. But I don't see them making it to the ECF anytime soon.
No expectations nationally or locally outside of the homer fan.
For me, I am a homer but a logical one unless it's about landing a superstar. Most fans in Atlanta are casual which makes this coli base fun because it's rare you get hardcore Hawks fans online anywhere. Even the main Hawk message board is dead. So you gotta be honest.
Look at Cleveland in the last 20 years and Atlanta.
Atlanta Hawks have no expectations as does the Browns.
The Cavs had Lebron and was contenders for years, the Falcons were never contenders except for one season with Vick in a weak NFC.
The Braves had seven contending years and that was disappointing. The Indians had some good years and was frauds as well at times but had three contending years.
If the Falcons were never contenders with Matt Ryan they damn sure werent with Vick.
We were contenders with Vick but not the year we went to the SB? Come on bruh, let the Vick love go.
National media, I remember ESPN was predicting us to beat Philly as was other outlets. No one said we would beat Seattle or San Fran. Both Ryan and Vick are frauds.
We were underdogs in that Philly game. The talking heads were picking us to win because of the whole McNabb T.O. dysfunctional team scenario but the money was on the Eagles.
Ryan needs an offensive line and he is good. Is he Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Peyton, or Brady? No, but you can win with him. Vick didnt even take football seriously while he was with us. The problem with this team is that our GM has given us trash lines on both sides of the ball. You cant win shyt when the offensive and defensive lines are the worst part of your team.
Ryan is Drew Bledsoe. Let's build up the lines, get a redzone RB, and stop this Atlanta Saints crap. We do enough damage paying Ryan that money.
That's already in the works. In the past nikkas never wanted to come here cuz the ownership and the front office was a joke. ASG still sucks but it looks like the worst is over with them. The Hawks actually have a viable blueprint for what we trying to do. We finally have a real GM and I think we have a good thing in Coach Bud.
If we ever do become a destination for FA's its a wrap, nikkas will be breaking they neck to play here. Half the NBA already be in the city chilling during the off season anyway.
Honestly, NBA players want to play with other stars. We don't have one. If we get Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, or Randle, you never know plus Dennis got all world potential.
