damn, can y'all at least give him an album first? lol

Y'all still be supporting Flabolous and his Soul tape #4945903495 career

even in fab's most dumbed down state on the soul tape.
fab, still raps leagues and a few worlds in the universe better than troy ave.
on top of having some of the most entertaining visuals from each edition of the soul tape.
plus, fab will and does body shyt on the mic, and it is a forgone conclusion that he is nice.
troy ave is a bytch nikka who shys from battles.
then, tries to deflect his culturally deficient weirdo tendencies on other artists.
while looking like larry holmes with sizzurp being pumped in his flabby and sick frame via IV.

C'mon man. First you said, NY, now you saying BK. That said, even from BK, I would put Jay, Big, Kane, Busta (technically from BK). While her run was relatively short, some might argue Lil Kim would go before Fab.

i don't think kim went multi plat at all, actually.
plus, in regards to just stats like sales.
fab is high up there as a solo artist for ny.

you may have forgotten,..fab was the mtv go to guy from 9/11, with his nate dog record.
plus, never really tailed off in sales or exposure in draw after that, till after breathe.
even, after breathe he still had his rnb collab/girl records that drew like the tamia record, too.

so, mr sam is not far off, with what he said by just sheer numbers.

Troy Ave is a victim of believing his own hype. He's not as hot as he think he is. Hot nikka is the track in the city right now, I was just in NY and that's all I heard.

Easily the 4th most successful rapper from BK, might even be third, considering he sold more and made more money than Kane. And by success I'm talking record sales, money, respect, name value and status.

jay
big
kane
whodini
fat boys
beastie boys
foxy brown
lil kim
busta rhymes

fab is 10th at best.

Fat Boys (And groups don't count anyway), Kane, Foxy Brown and Kim aren't as successful as Fabolous. He sold way more records than them and has way more hits.

he sold more cuz he put out way more albums. and most of his albums & hits are the epitomy of 'middle of the road'.

aside from busta, he doesnt come close to any of their peaks.

why dont groups count?

He's had the same amount of albums as Lil Kim and one more album than Foxy Brown. And he had higher peaks than them too. It's not debatable. It's a fact he's been way more successful.

And groups don't count because that's a completely different animal. Same reason nobody asks who's better Nas or Wu Tang? It's just weird to incorporate a group into it. There's different factors that go into groups over solo artist. One person in the group might be the real star, one might have done more work to get the group hits, etc. It's too hazy when it comes to groups who's the clear reason why they're successful.

when did fabolous have a higher peak than kim or foxy?? mustve been a wack year like 07 or 09 when chit didnt matter anymore.

foxy only dropped like 3 or 4 albums. kim only had 4. unless youre talking about some semi-retired indie albums that they just threw out there, that nobody knew about.

aiht cool. but i think people should say solo rapper or something. cuz when you just say rapper, youre really not excluding groups, but youre still disregarding them.

If that's true...and dude's entire buzz and run is over just because some other random rapper got a week's worth of attention, he never really had a buzz or a run in the first place...there's what like 9 million people in NYC and you're telling me there can only be ONE popping upcoming new rapper at a time on some Highlander sh!t? :heh: ...On top of that, they don't even remotely sound alike...there should more than enough space for him to coexist with any other number of rappers...that's how "scenes" are brought about...schoolboy's run isn't over because yg started popping...migos run didn't stop because young thug got some songs that were hits and etc

The problem is that Troy Ave based himself and his whole movement on being anti-weirdo rap. Being the only nikka from New York making actual street nikka music.

The problem for Troy is that Bobby Schmurda and GS9 are hood nikkas. Making block music. And from a hood even deeper into Brooklyn completely untouched by gentrification.

So they can claim that lane even more than Troy ave can.

Schmurda is pushing product on Troy own block
