Do you idiots not see how the rest of the game played out?
Seriously, yall are idiots.
The falcons would not have scored a TD with their last Possession down by 3.
They would have kicked a FG to tie instead of going for it on 4th because they needed a TD

Oh so you get to pick and choose how the rest of the game would have played out to support your argument?:skip:

If you took what happened the rest of the game, the Falcons would have won with that FG:skip:

Explain?

Here is the Falcon's last drive.... The score of the game was JETS 27-21 ATL ( Please NOTE that if the Falcons would have kicked the FG the score would have been JETS27-24 ATL)

  • 1st and 10 at ATL 37
  • M.Ryan pass deep left to J.Jones ran ob at NYJ 36 for 27 yards. PENALTY on ATL-J.Jones, Offensive Pass Interference, 10 yards, enforced at ATL 37 - No Play.
  • 1st and 20 at ATL 27
  • M.Ryan pass deep left to J.Jones to NYJ 27 for 46 yards (A.Cromartie). Penalty on NYJ-A.Cromartie, Defensive Pass Interference, declined.
  • 1st and 10 at NYJ 27
  • M.Ryan pass incomplete deep middle to H.Douglas (D.Walls).
  • 2nd and 10 at NYJ 27
  • (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass short left to J.Rodgers to NYJ 18 for 9 yards (D.Harris).
  • 3rd and 1 at NYJ 18
  • M.Ryan pass incomplete short right to T.Gonzalez.
  • 4th and 1 at NYJ 18
  • (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass short left to T.Gonzalez to NYJ 14 for 4 yards (K.Wilson) [Q.Coples].
  • 1st and 10 at NYJ 14
  • (No Huddle, Shotgun) A.Smith left tackle to NYJ 6 for 8 yards (D.Davis; D.Harris).
  • 2nd and 2 at NYJ 6
  • (No Huddle, Shotgun) M.Ryan pass short right to H.Douglas to NYJ 7 for -1 yards (D.Walls).
  • 3rd and 3 at NYJ 7
  • (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass incomplete short middle to J.Jones.
  • 4th and 3 at NYJ 7
  • (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass incomplete short right to J.Rodgers. PENALTY on NYJ-D.Davis, Defensive Holding, 4 yards, enforced at NYJ 7 - No Play.
  • 1st and 3 at NYJ 3
  • J.Rodgers left guard to NYJ 3 for no gain (D.Landry; S.Richardson).
  • 2nd and 3 at NYJ 3
  • (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass short right to L.Toilolo for 3 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
THE BOLDED.
If the falcons had kicked the FG at the half. The Falcons would have kicked a FG here instead of trying to convert the 4th down.

THIS WOULD HAVE MADE THE GAME TIED 27-27

GENO WOULD HAVE GOT THE BALL BACK WITH THE GAME TIED INSTEAD OF DOWN BY 1

That's the funniest thing. That play could have possibly hurt the morale of the team going into the half.

Hard to judge them without the running back. They have no running game and now their biggest playmaker is gone. Hints would've been different if Steven Jackson was healthy. I give him one more season after this to see what he can do with hopefully a healthy backfield and some pieces added on defense via the draft.

I had them poised for a superbowl if they could've stay relatively healthy this season.

they should have kicked the field goal for the simple fact you had an entire half of football left to play, you can't be leaving no points off the board
when its no reason too

:what:

You know they would have tied the game in that situation.

Breh, a lot of different things could have happened had the Falcons kicked the FG before the half. Plays could have been called differently from the Falcons offensive or the Jets defensive perspective in the second half with the game one score away from being tied instead of two. We don't know. So if you're going to change a scenario, don't just change the one scenario to backup your point.

Mike Smith should have opted to kick the FG. The game was not even a blowout at that point. The Falcons were playing the fukking Jets, not the Broncos. It was a dumb move and most probably cost them the game.:snoop: To make matters worse, he did the same shyt against the Pats a week before in a game that was only a one score difference in the first half:skip:

Smith gets the benefit of doubt because he's won enough since he's been there, but these past two weeks he put his team in a bad position with dumb decisions to go for it on 4th down so early in the game instead of putting points on the board.

They didn't have a strong run game last year so to act like that handicapped them is :rudy:

If anything firing him next year will prolly be harder due to deterioration of talent, them not winning next year would make more sense than it has this year, it's clear the defense needs help, sjax is 30...he was a win now back not a next three season bet, gonzo is gone..,they'll have a lot of holes to fill

naw, he shouldn't be fired yet....he's earned some leeway....he does need to start putting points on the board instead of going for it on 4th all the time....
