And as far as Malik, nah he's nowhere near the elite in terms of production numbers, but seeing as how the single season record for passing TD's at the school is still Steve Walsh with 29 in '88 (CRAZY to think about with how passing offenses have exploded in the last 30 years) he has a chance of re-writing our record books.

Feagles is a true freshman. if he keeps putting the defense in bad situations, richt needs to give spicer a chance.

as for the rest of the season, it shapes up as favorably as we could want it. 2 toughest teams at home.
both Vtech and Notre Dame look like really solid teams. with our Dline, we can play with them and beat them. it will come down to the OFFENSE putting everything together. Malik not being a spaz, our receivers making plays one on one.

wouldn't shock me if we won out, wouldn't shock me if we loss 2 games

Perry is who this offense is built for. Malik makes the wrong reads with the RPO, he keeps it when he should hand it off and he hands it off when he should keep it. So frustrating.

Very Disappointed in the Linebacker play. Especially McCloud, he has regressed so far this season. I hope that he has a better second half of the season than the first. Shaq has been Meh, Pinckney is Pinckney, he takes chances but his instincts are rarely wrong.

Impressed with CB play, Young, Jackson:mj: , Delaney (when healthy), Bandy ( kids going to be special), and Dean

Dline has been stellar in pass rush, but lack discipline in stopping run. The most encouraging thing is that it is fundamental discipline, things that can be corrected. They aren't getting beat at the point of attack physically, which is a testament to our revamped S&C program.

All in all, we haven't played a full 60 min game yet this season, this can be a special season, if we can get healthy and become more disciplined.

Also, I love how we cut down on penalties.

It's so bad I've come to the belief that he (or Richt) decides if it's a keeper or not before the snap. That being said, I wish we had some variation in our zone reads. Syracuse ran my favorite play several times, the power read. That play alone made Andy Dalton a legit dual threat at TCU. Andy Dalton :mindblown: If we included that in our arsenal Malik would break off big ones at a more consistent rate.

Let’s hope the Canes can lay the smack down on North Carolina.

If Va Tech could embarrass this team, hopefully the Canes will too.

I believe in my heart that N'Kosi is being groomed to take this job in the spring. This offense wasn't designed for Malik, he is a decent athlete, but N'Kosi is taller, has a better arm, and faster. I cannot wait until Spring when the QB Competition opens. Shoot, Cade Weldon is a better option too.

Yeah I was gonna say, don't sleep on Cade. Whoever gets the job is the one who is consistent in making the reads Richt wants them to in the passing game.

And I don't think N'Kosi gets the job next year. I dunno. If Malik keeps on playing like this, flawed as it is...I mean how often does an incumbent who has played at this level straight up lost the QB battle their senior year? Now if the year takes a shyt and we crumble second half of the season then sure. But if we're a 10 ten win team? You really yank a guy who got you there and did a good job of it?

The other option is you roll with Malik next year and then Perry gets his first taste with the offense as a junior...having wasted 2 years of eligibility? And by then a good chunk of the defense is in the nfl.

I’m probably wrong. I don’t really know the eligibility rules that well.

Something drastic would have to happen for Malik to be on the bench next year. If perry was so good he would be starting right now. Believe it or not just like perry is getting better so will Malik so.....

Redshirt Sophmore.

But yeah man...and? :yeshrug:

Kids see the field for the first time as RS Sophs and Juniors all the time. The defense is good now, it should be good in 2019, too. It's not like we have a once in a lifetime roster we're going to lose because of a salary cap or anything. Eligibility is the name of the game in college.

Hypothetical:

Let's say N'Kosi plays next year and is great, then again in 2018 and leaves because he has two years of good tape, and in 2019 we have the best team we've had in years but have to rely on an unproven, first year starter at QB?

In college, you just can't play that "we got the talent now so we need such and such guy on the field" game. These kids make huge strides (in either direction) every year.

Honestly, the best thing to do at the college level is stockpile talent, and through red-shirts, try to keep them on campus as long as possible, so you have a constant influx of dudes who have been showing out in practice and on scout team for about 2-3 years before they see the field. That way you build depth, and can reload every year with damn near proven quantities year after year and never feel left assed out when someone graduates/declares.

In a sport where you have a time limit on how long you can keep guys, keeping sure things and known quantities is the name of the game.

If Malik keeps playing like this, he starts next year because you know what you have and you know what you have is good. Then in 2019 you have a few guys who have been on campus for 2 1/2 years, in practice, in the scout team, learning the playbook inside and out, competing for the job and you're left with a lot less questions.

That's not just for QB, it's for all positions.

lol at ungrateful Miami fans u wouldn't be undefeated and have a legit chance to make the playoffs without Rosier. He isn't the problem he would be on pace to break all of y'alls records if that arkansas state game didnt get cancelled

OL is average that's whats holding the offense back from being elite

Rosier got intangibles, I wouldn't start Perry unless he's above and beyond better.
