I think he is, but I think he might need to redshirt a year. All the news from camp makes it seem like he's picking up the playbook at the usual rate for a freshman, and not unnaturally quick like you'd need from a true freshman to start.
If Shirrefs had more arm talent I think he'd be a lock, but he's got a noodle arm and his ability to complete a pass falls apart once flushed out of the pocket.
I think it's Malik's job
