Is the U back?

nah, but all things considered, this was supposed to be a "rebuilding year" of sorts. we had question marks around key positions, especially QB, and we're still 5-0.

At the beginning of the season, most thought we would be a 2-3 loss team. The goals were to beat FSU (done), get to a double digit win season (have a good shot), and win the coastal division (have a good shot). We still might lose those 2-3 games to be completely honest - we haven't been beating teams the way we should except for Duke. However, we will likely be favored in every game in the regular season except maybe Notre Dame.

couple thoughts:

-Homer is a better back for this offense than Walton was. He makes our O-line look better because he's decisive and hits the hole hard. I love the way he runs, he runs angry and has great top-end speed. Should've been a 1-2 punch with the RB's like the way Richt used to do at UGA.

-we need Redwine back in the worst way. Not because he's a star, but Robert Knowles is fukking trash. Syracuse's whole offensive philosophy is to confuse the secondary, and if this nikka Knowles trots on the field, we might be fukked. I actually believe that.

-Jhavonte Dean should see the field a lot more next week. In limited opportunities, he's looked very good as a cover corner. His biggest weakness apparently is tackling, but we need to put over best cover guys out on the field next week vs Syracuse.

-We need Richards back. Cool to see that sme of our receivers have stepped up, like Berrios and Langham, but Richards is the one guy who can open up things for everyone else.

-Why don't we use Chris Herndon more?

all things considered I still think Richt is an underwhelming coach. It's only halfway through the season, but Kirby Smart has a team full of Richt players looking like national championship contenders. Even on our squad, there's so much talent that is being incorrectly utilized. I think Richt the type of coach we keep for 3-4 years to stabilize the program as a 10 win per year type team, but then we go after someone else. Either that or Richt hires a good OC who runs spread concepts.

.

this has been the missing ingredient in the 1st halves, imo. his health and a complete lack of targets for what could be the best TE in the ACC if he actually got touches

this team is loaded. yall just don't understand and seeing this because for what other reason, they not playing and using the talent correctly. since last year I been saying homer is live. this man have arguably the best TE in the nation and he barly seeing the ball. unfortunately injuries are needed to see what we have. this nikka was crying last year talking bout we don't have the speed at wr to scare secondary's, this nikka gets them and don't use them correctly. STOP THROWING ALL THE BALLS to BERRIOS. give some of those short passing plays to thomas/Harley. difference is them two can turn a broken tackle to TDs. smh

I agree breh, but there is only 1 team in college football that has perfect coaches for their system - Clemson. Dabo and Venables have taken a team of mostly 3 and 4 star recruits to back to back natty's and have become a national powerhouse.

The other school, Bama, just recruits like a fukking machine so they pretty much have no weaknesses.

You're right about Richt not using the talent he has effectively, but its the same with Jimbo, McElwain, Gus Malzahn, Orgeron, etc etc etc. He's a good coach for our program RIGHT NOW :manny:

the offense is still a bit handcuffed by Malik's inconsistency. he misses so many wide open guys, Richt clearly dumbs down the play calling to fit him. once we get a better QB, one that is as talented as the skill position guys, the offense will probably take off.

He was even more inconsistent than Malik with his arm and had the turnover bug.

Shirrefs can make all the throws but his mechanics fall apart once he's flushed out of the pocket and gets sacked a lot.

Malik, with his obvious weaknesses, is the best overall option we got.

The thing that bugs me is...why don't we come out in the first like we come out in the 4th with the easy bubbles to the reliable guys like Berrios and Herndon to set a tempo and some rhythm?
