Tell the Game to stop name-dropping. That's the ONLY thing really holding people back from feeling his music. He has the emotion, the production, the delivery. He just needs the rhymes to back him up, and as of post-Doctor's Advocate, they have been mad corny. The RED Album >>> LAX, but once again, too many name-drops and too many features. That shyt could've passed for a DJ Skee compliation album.

Game, along with Kanye West and Jeezy, were the only truly NEW artists to really breakthrough and have actual careers with discographies in the mid 2000s

Game repped the Westcoast heavy. Even though he did A LOT of questionable shyt, he held it down and brought it to anyone that had a problem. I respect that

Theres tons of new MCs now, but Game did it at a time where labels were folding left right and center and no one was trying to hear a gangbanging Westcoast MC. There was no look for the Freshmen back then like there is now. It was the same old dudes saturating the game and refusing to take a step back. The internet did not have the same level of marketing power either. He had to grind it out, and his work ethic was crazy in 2005-2006

Those three were arguably the last to create legitimate careers the old fashioned way. I dont count Wayne, 50 or TI cause they were around longer

i would say ross is in there also wit them 3, he came up the same time as them, wasnt as big as them but was always been and album was always talked and and everybody i knew liked port of mia around my way, he just use the internet to take it to another level once it started to be a viable way to promote yourself

Too much Game hate...I think dude is sooo underrated ... people often confuse his antics with his music...too many rap consumers look at these rappers as role models

Game is the fuuckking man

I think the main issue is the name dropping. When you know he's going to do it and then he proceeds to make you sit through 16 bars of it its like :snoop:

I really do enjoy how he punches rappers when he sees them, then they act like they gon do somethin then nothin happens :russ:

So as far as antics, most of em are comedy

but the name dropping should stop :manny:

Excellent post. I really didn't think of it that way until you brought it up.

No don't get me wrong. I'm following your format. I haven't listened to his last 2 efforts. But what I do end up hearing from him I know he's still up to the same style. Which is ok for him, its just not for me.

Its a catch 22 with stuff like this. Alot of people say to keep reinventing yourself and keep evolving your sound.

While others fell off because they reinvented a sound that they should have left alone.
