With the release of "Magna Carta Holy Grail", Jay and NaS blessed us with their 5th Collaboration. Even though there are about over 20 amazing records to reference during the whole beef, these 5 songs are the ones they did together. So which is your fav. Here's a breakdown of all 5 songs:
"Analyze This" 96' NaS featuring Jay Z and Lord Tariq - This was a cut/paste joint that Jay and NaS did. Lord Tariq of the group (Peter Guns and Lord Tariq) actually was bubbling in NY on the underground scene during this time. He even did a song with Biggie during that time. It was originally a Shaq song that was changed by The Trackmasters. I don't think they were in the studio. Both Jay and NaS spit ILL verses and even Lord Tariq held his own. What's ILL about the song is it's vintage Jay and NaS from the mid-90's (4.5 MICS)

"Black Republican" 06' NaS featuring Jay Z - This had to be one of the most Epic songs in Hip Hop History. NaS and Jay just squashed their beef and shocked the whole game by becoming unified. NaS signs to Def Jam and drops his album "Hip Hop Is Dead" and on the album is this song. L.E.S. one of NaS long -time producers had the honor. This is officially called their 1st "Real" collaboration. The beat samples the score from "The Godfather Trilogy" which gives it this whole amazing feel. I think they both went in. (5 MICS)

"Success" 07' Jay Z featuring NaS - After being on "Hip Hop is Dead", NaS returned the favor and was on Jay's "American Gangster" LP. "Success" is a song where Jay and NaS trade bars about the trappings and the luxury's of success. Jay actually had a hard verse and from 1st listen it seemed he took the song but NaS came through with some subliminals that can't be denied on this. Jay rode the beat better but NaS got him on that. (5 MICS)

"I Do It For Hip Hop" 10' Ludacris featuring Jay Z and NaS - The two iconic Hip Hop Legends blessed Ludcacris with their next callabo. Luda went 1st and held his own and both Jay and NaS came through and crushed it. I think they were about even on this (5 MICS)

"BBC" 13' Jay Z featuring NaS, Timbaland, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce - On Jay's new LP he surprised everyone by him and NaS doing a mainstream club record. NaS who has done many club records in his career has proven he isn't the most comfortable on these type of records but he can still spit on them. NaS rarely if ever worked with The Neptunes and only done about 5 or 6 collabos with Timbaland. So NaS came on the track and sounded like he was having a great time. With that said Jay sounded like he was more comfortable on the track. The Ma$e lyrical reference set the song off. Love the beat, hook and both of their rhymes (5 MICS)
There you have it. So which is your favorite collaboration?
