Vince has written in his first book that he suggested screw job. I have no reason to doubt him, and it's a basic enough idea that it could've independently come from different people.

That actually may have helped McMahon pull the trigger on the idea.

Think i missed the vince shawn thing, had some stuff going on when i started it.

The house thing I think u are referring to is when they brought in val venis. They finally came up with the idea to run with the pornstar gimmick. Vince gave it the ok and sent them off to do vignettes. Well in 1998 the hottest pornstar on the planet was jenna jameson. Russo hired her for the afternoon and they shot a bunch of stuff at Bruces house...her in a bathtub etc. they brought the vignettes to vince to get the final stamp, and vince wouldnt use them. He thought Jenna Jameson was ugly.
