Obsession with threes? It's called floor spacing, how is JaVale going to free up KAT when you can have the opposing center just camped in the lane because he's no threat outside of 5 feet and Jimmy being no threat from three either.
The Wolves aren't beating any team that hits 16 threes, they are built like an mid 90s team.
And that's your mistake. You think playing like a team from the 90s is a problem.
When everyone is playing one way (as we're seeing right now with this 3-pt shooting obsession), the smart play is to play the opposite way. A team with talent that played like teams in the 90s would succeed in today's NBA.
All I'll say is go back and watch games 3-6 of the 2015 NBA Finals. Cavs were forced because of injury to play a big lineup with Mosgov and Tristan. They slowed the pace down and just pounded the Warriors down low. This allowed them to keep the series close despite the gap in talent.
Or how about 2006? How were the Lakers with Kwame Brown, Luke Walton, and Smush Parker starting able to force the Suns (who started the run-n--gun 3-point shooting mess we see now) to a 3-1 defecit and a 7 game series? It wasn't because Kobe was dominating them. It was because they slowed the pace down and were pounding the ball inside to Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown every play. They even used Luke Walton in post-ups.
Stop thinking there is only one way to play now.
