I usually tip unless someone is being an a$$hole...then they gets nada or 1 dollar just to be a dic.

One thing I get confused on tho is when u call in ya food to pickup at a restaurant (cheesecake factory, Fridays or wherever). And they have the tip line on the receipt. On one hand I feel like I did all the work. All they did was bag my shyt up and take my money. But on the other hand...they are usually nice pretty women working as a hostess and they make me feel guilty for not tipping

Here's a real TIP...

Tip your flight attendant when you fly. My boy told me this, and I tried it. :ohlawd:

said the chick didn't take his tip at first, but she rained airplane bottles of liq on em for free (said he had like 5 only paid for the first:krs::ooh::myman:) She brought him lil snacks and gave him the can of soda (instead of just a cup of soda)

I got laced with extra bottles of liq, again, only paid for the first one...I turned down the snacks but she bought me the small Jack Daniels and Grey Goose bottles. I only gave her a $5 she finally took it on the way off the plane, and probably could've bagged her if I didnt have a fiance...

They rarely, if ever, get tipped. So when somebody bless em, they definitely look out...

Heed my advice fellow travelers, you might even get in the mile high club if you real slick

I tip for service at a restaurant, between 5-20% depending on the service and race of the server.

I tip bartenders $1/drink.

I tip street musicians if they play well enough for me to stop & listen.

I don't tip cab drivers or bathroom attendants. I don't let hotel help carry my bags because I'm not tipping for that. I cut my own hair, but I didn't tip barbers when I was a kid.

What else is common?

The fact that people expect a tip is why I sometimes do not tip.
People expect me to either not tip or be a horrible tipper just because I'm black. Therefore I make it a point to tip and tip well. Your parents were wrong btw

Tipping is a sexist and racist practice. It promotes different classes of service based on stereotypes (e.g. the poster who said he only tips girls he finds attractive). Moreover it goes both ways (e.g. if you're black you may automatically get worse service despite any tip you leave, etc).

If store owners can't pay their staff accordingly maybe they shouldn't be in business. I dislike subsidizing a business's labor department (edit: I mean explicitly with tips) . As a food eater, frankly that is not my problem. Also many cook staff don't get tips. They are underpaid. It's tough out there.

15% unless I get excellent service, or no service at all. No service, no tip

Nah, they had a good explanation for doing which is minorities have it tough in a country like America and that they probably get tipped less because of their race.

The whole tipping practice is stupid btw these restaurants are getting away with free labor because a majority of American's are gullible.

I try to avoid dining out if at all possible. I worked in a restaurant for two years doing carryout orders and I saw how most the staff (including c00ns) would negatively stereotype black people from the get-go. That means getting less attention than other tables and waiting longer for your food because the waiter didn't ring it in right away and was playing on their phone for 5 minutes while your food was ready sitting under the heat lamps.

The very few times I do go out with family to a restaurant I will tip 15%-20% for good service. Any service worse than that (and I know since I worked in that industry), and they'll be lucky to get a dollar or two.

Basic service is 15% plus a percent for every refill.

Good service is 20% or more plus refills.

Bad service is the change in my pocket and any other random item I have on me and don't want (gum rapper, etc). I feel a horrible tip sends a louder message than no tip at all. :yeshrug:
