I think its more about access and familiarity. White dudes see their pops playing the game. They are way more likely to be working with people that look like them.

Black folks have to deal with a (totally valid) distrust of white folks and that two way lack of familarity. If you the first in your family to have a degree and work in certain environments all you got to go on is media and what other folks say. That stuff can easily poison your mind. Thats why access is so important.
I see your point.

Like Jay said,
“I’m trynna give yall the game for 9.99”

Even my OG post works for most orgs—church, non profits, etc

If you want to work harder then work harder and put on a kool-aid smile but it has little to do with making money. To make money you have to provide real value, it has nothing to do with stroking your boss ego. Your only advantage in life is to be your true authentic self.

The workplace is not like high school instead it’s like the African Savannah. A laughing Hyena will never be a Lion. The people in charge need to respect you no matter what they feel inside. If anything just be kind to people but don’t placate to their insecurities by always being a likable push over.

Ok broke Coli nikka, how do I provide value?
I remember when I was at a piano store buying something for my kid and I overheard the general manager and a female employee discussing if she deserved a raise. The girl used her leverage by stating that she has a large following on her podcast about playing piano and she sends a lot of referrals to the store and that will stop asap. The manager instantly started copping pleas and begging her not to pull the plug. Forget the raise she doubled her income and became the customer service manager that day. That’s how you use leverage to get to the money.
I see what you mean btw… I also believe there are multiple paths.
