Edmunds.com helped me out tremendously when I was getting ready to buy a used car years ago
-Know the market value of the car you want. That's helps in negotiations. Had a salesman laugh at my offer telling me he couldn't sell it to me for that low price. When I pulled out my printout of the market value aka what the same make and model was selling for, he shut up and stopped laughing. Car salesmen hate knowledgeable buyers.
- Don't be afraid to walk out of the dealership. For that same car, I sealed the deal while in a rental on the phone with another dealership I was headed to. After we shook on the deal he shook his head and said you're good. LMAO yeah I'm paying for it sir
-Have your own financing set up already
-Focus on the price of the car and not the monthly payments. NEVER answer that bs question, it's a trick. They'll get you the monthly you want but the price will be higher
-Once you've agreed to the price of the car, DO NOT let them add on bs in that side room. Tints, rims, etc. You can get alladat done after you buy the car. They'll charge you way more for that bs
