this.

won't see TF2 until 2016 more than likely. Holiday season as well.

Although I still wouldn't trust EA......I wouldn't put any fukkery past those cats.
Yeah, I dont see how people can claim that the 2nd one is coming to PS4 just because the dev said it would, they obviously dont have much say in the matter. I wouldnt be surprised if it does really well for the same thing to happens again. Money talks, and the devs obviously aren't invited to the convo

The devs didn't even say that 2 would be coming to ps4.

They were asked if they'd be making games for ps4 they said yes.

They were asked if it would be titanfal 2 and they said no titanfal 2 plans exist yet.

There is no deal for 2 yet, it's not even guaranteed to be published by EA

Money talks

and this is why TF2 will be on the PS4.

MS had enough money to do it for the first one since the install bases aren't low, but that PS4 install base will be too big to ignore the sequel.

This is EA we're talking about and Respawn wants it on the 4.

Identifying the Xbox brand with the game was important and that is what this move does. Even going forward (barring a major difference), with the game being multiplat, it will still be heavily marketed and identified as an Xbox brand game.

Also, Respawn sold their publishing rights to EA for the game, so that's why EA had the control to do whatever they wanted with the IP. That's not in place for sequels. EA did fund the startup of the studio, so almost like a rapper, Respawn gave up that publishing for the first game.

Well see what happens, but in a couple years we dont know how will have what install base....too many factors, not saying it wont come because to me it really doesnt matter if somebody gets to play the same game as me, but i'm just saying the devs have show to not have much control, so they can say what they want but EA is daady to them...I havent read the contract so i dont know whats in it to say that EA only has these rights for the first game

It's simple reading comrehension man. No stan/trolling. You can read the tweets from Zampella. They obviously were working on the port for TF1 to the 4 and got the rugged pulled out from under them on that one.

When asked if it was an MS exclusive Franchise, Zampella said it straightforward no, it was only the first game.

Not knocking it, it's a definite win for Xbox securing that first game.

Hold up. "Titanfall" uses the Source engine? Seriously?

Fred.
nah it doesn't , the engine is entirely rewritten. in fact respawn get's pissed off when people call it that becuase the coding took them years to perfect.

Exactly and they do. Respawn still owns the IP though and I believe you're right in the fact that they can take TF2 and have someone other than EA publish that game.

Zampella obviously wasn't too pleased with the backdoor move, but I highly doubt they go back to Activision for TF2 publishing.. They'll stay with EA since they have total control going foward with sequels.

as of right now (october 2013) the answer is no to that question, MS could offer Zampella a bag of money 100 million up front and help with development to keep the IP exclusive he'll take it.

:stopitslime: didn't see y'all saying this about deep down or the countless other 3rd party exclusives on Sony platforms.

Your not a true gamer if you don't realize how Microsofts huge investment in the cloud will push gaming forward, TitanFall is just the start
:comeon:
I believe I said something similar in the deep down thread.

I also spoke on microsoft taking shyt further for the dedicated servers many times.

And you blame MS? If what you are saying is true and not some neogaf munbo jumbo than blame EA. MS is just doing business and yea Sony would do the same also if they could.
No sony would just create their own exclusive ip, Like they have been doing since they lost the ps2 leadership.

Microsoft is by far the worst when it comes to exclusives. And they are the only console maker that spends more money, buying games than they do developing them

Edit: and I dont need neocac to say whats on my mind and talk games with the coli brehs.

Im tired of hearing about them racist that supposedly know it all on neocac

I have no doubt that the game will continue to be marketed as an Xbox game. 100 million is not enough for a game that could overtake COD as the premier FPS franchise of next gen. Respawn knows this. No one is that blatantly straightforward like he was in his tweets following the news yesterday. The fact he even said the things he did was disturbing. For them not to even know about the deal is nuts to me.

The 1 year original timed exclusive made sense since MS was providing their servers and marketing assistance. EA funded the studio. I get the year exclusivity. It's clear they were working on porting to at least the 4. He also said out of his own mouth it was strictly for the first game in the series, not the franchise. They have control after this game. It's Mass Effect all over again. MS would have to pony up at least 350 million (MS investors would shyt on them for this). Modern Warfare on the PS3 sold 6 million (over 300 million in revenue).

Okay bruh, continue to :troll:

Sad about EA making a deal for the "rest". Cmon bruh....

That's fine. He probably did want to bring Titanfal to ps4 eventually.

That doesn't mean that "they were obviously working on a ps4 version" or that this was some type of bad deal behind his back.

I bet the deal has more to do with the availability of dedicated servers than some nefarious back room deals. They've been very clear that the game couldn't even have began development with dedicated servers being guaranteed. With Sony unable to guarantee them EA probably didnt want to put the money up of for an unproven game that would be 6-12 months old by the time it made it to ps4
