I played it at my co- workers crib and the game is piff, but its only fun in short sperts. Damn i cant imagine bow many will be playing when i cop a x1. Damn
so nikkas gon forget that there is a rank system working in the background now and that searches are tighter and will take a bit longer?
u were saying? you can skip through the video...I just did the stream to prove a lil point...now i'm off to give the heatles a win in the virtual world...
. Waiting SEVEN minutes for a game to get started isn't nothing to be proud about..
Yea it's not "unplayable" but that's still unacceptable. I'd probably just play something else if I didn't want to wait. I understand 2-3 minutes but 7 minutes my dude? Either way, locking titans behind a "campaign" mode that most people will have moved on from immediately after playing is a silly way to unlock them.
I know about the matchmaking update that had added more parameters to search but the wait times is exaggerated like the OP said. Once people beat the campaign, they won't have a need to go through it again. This presents an issue for newer players.have you ever played a multiplayer game with ranks? when the search is strict it takes a while...i'm sorry this isnt cod or killzone where a players true skill rank means nothing and you just get thrown into games instantly with players of all skill levels...
That itself is the issue. Once the majority of people unlock their Titans, those who are new to the game have to endure long wait times to find others who are playing the campaign. There's no point to playing the campaign once you unlock the other titans. They locked the Titans behind campaign to get ppl to play the campaign...I see nothing wrong with that...especially in a game where you unlock weapons for playing a lot...force these nikkas to earn these titans...
Problem: Matchmaking times are very long for CTF and PH playlists due to low population counts.
Solution: Remove CTF and PH, introduce new playlists with other modes (and those, sometimes) soon.
Misunderstanding Data:
People who sat through wait times for CTF and PH were doing so by choice over going to Attrition where they could get an instant match. Those players are highly prone to quit playing the game entirely now - if they wanted faster matchmaking, they would have gone to Attrition in the first place.
So really what you need to do is....
Treat the CAUSE and not the symptoms!
The cause of every matchmaking issue has had since release is the infrastructure it's built on. There's several points which split the community at each step:
The core issue is the server segregation. The total player count won't be going up much (if at all), so removing playlists to add others doesn't really solve shyt unless people quit playing Attrition/Hardpoint (they won't).
- Server Selection - In the US alone, this segregates the population into 4 different matchmaking buckets. Europe gets split in two.
- Skill Checks - This was barely working at launch, worked very slightly better for awhile, then got reverted back to barely working. But I like to imagine this also splits players.
- Playlist Selection - Lastly, playlist selection splits the community into 6 buckets.
Usually it's solved by grabbing a few players from a neighbor server if there's not enough to fill a match. Continue to widen the ping range if there is still absolutely nothing.
The difference between three US servers for me is less than 20 ping - there's no reason I shouldn't be able to be pulled into any of those. Same deal with EU for many people.
Alternatively, server browsers solve the problem because you can select a ping that you're OK with. In my same example, I can be displaying matches for all US servers and take one with a higher ping if that's all that's open.
So for Respawn to solve it they need to do one (or multiple) of the following:
Ideally, they'd do the first three in tandem. It would drastically increase the matchmaking times and also communicate potential long waits and sign a contract of sorts that the player is willing to wait that long.
- Allow for automatic migration to neighbor servers within x ping of current selection (they may do this already, albiet seldomly)
- Allow users to select multiple servers
- Display expected wait times for each playlist
- Add a server browser displaying lobbies in each (this seems excessive with them all being on dedicated - might as well just allow multi-server selection)

Sounds like PC complaints and those from outside US and Europe.
Their matchmaking is the problem not so much the population

Thread: Sky_Captyn comments on Respawn comment on PC removal of CTF and Pilot Hunter
And now DLC is introduced to further divide the community. DLC maps packs that aren't free do more harm than good and needs to change.
Nah the guy who complained was on the Xbox One.If we had a thread for every time they complained about something on neogaf
But anyways this sounds like a outside the U.S./PC problem. All they have to do is add some incentives for people to replay the campaign. Double XP, achievements, challenges, exclusive burn cards, ect.
Simple fix![]()
Title says it all. I've been trying ever since I got my Xbox One Sunday to play through the campaign. I can only get past the first mission of the militia side. I'm not too sad about the "story" as I already played through it on the Xbox 360, but if I remember correctly I have to beat the story mode in order to unlock certain things. I guess I'm never going to unlock them, because I can't find anyone to play with. Awesome. -.-
...please devs, give options to allow people to play through campaign content without relying on other people. Relying on other people to also be playing story mode in order to progress wasn't the best idea, and it's safe to say that this experiment is a failure.
*shrug*, booted up my Xbox One, full lobby for the first mission after about 2 minutes of searching on US West. Doesn't seem apocalyptic to me.

From those quotes it doesn't seem much of a problem in the us.Nah the guy who complained was on the Xbox One.
A different person.
you're not the op over there? From those quotes it doesn't seem much of a problem in the us.
Sounds like concern trolling/fud
you're not the op over there?
The quote was from a guy out west. If he played and was booted back to a previous level after several minutes of searching, it's an issue nonetheless. Heck, in this very thread a video was posted showing how long it took to find a match and it took SEVEN minutes until the game was actually up and running. That's normal wait times breh? Let's shave off 1 to 1 and a half minutes for loading, that's still pretty long. I suspect peak hours play a role but let's not act like everything is perfect. Oh and I'm not the OP. Concern trolling/fud??? Nah the only thing apparent here is the damage control you're doing.
