WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil Set To Release Autobiography - ProWrestling.com

PWInsider is reporting that Titus O’Neil will release his autobiography, There’s No Such Thing As a Bad Kid: How I Went from Stereotype to Prototype, on Aug. 6th. The book will be co-written by Paul Guzzo.

The following promotional materials have been made available:

An inspiring story from one of WWE’s most charitable Superstars

One conversation from one caring person can change the course of a child’s life ? Thaddeus Bullard knows that first-hand. Growing up, he was repeatedly confronted with negative words and actions. By the time he was a teenager, he figured that he was the bad kid everyone said he was ? until an adult looked him in the eye and said, “There is no such thing as a bad kid.” Unfortunately, like young Thaddeus, many children across North America are labeled “bad.” They may have short attention spans, unstable home environments, inattentive parents, or learning difficulties; they may get into trouble at school, get bullied, or bully others. Often, these young people are diagnosed with an emotional or behavioral disorder and placed in special education classes. They internalize these labels, and the imposed limitations affect their ability to learn, behave, and fit in with others.

There’s No Such Thing as a Bad Kid chronicles Thaddeus’s turbulent childhood years as he encountered those who helped him to shed the label and realize his unique greatness and his value and potential. Thaddeus’s remarkable story will provide hope and inspiration to children in similar circumstances and will help guide well-meaning adults in how to pay forward their successes to a generation of disadvantaged children.

:blessed: can't wait to read it

"There's No Such Thing as Bad Kid: How I went from Stereotype to Prototype" by WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil will be published by ECW Press on Aug. 6, in partnership with WWE.

"There’s No Such Thing as a Bad Kid" is an inspirational, inside look at O’Neil’s journey from his turbulent childhood years to his current success as an accomplished WWE Superstar, philanthropist and entertainer.

As a child, O’Neil was repeatedly dismissed as a “bad kid,” and by the time he was a teenager, he had internalized those negative labels. He owes his change of outlook on life to an adult that told him, “there is no such thing as a bad kid.” It was then that he began to believe in himself and in his ability to change his story. O’Neil went on to become a high school All-American, student body Vice President at the University of Florida, and the first college graduate in his immediate family.

“Being in WWE provides me a global platform to impact lives in a positive way, but it doesn’t take a Superstar to make a difference,” said O’Neil. “This is the story of how one conversation changed my life, how I transformed a personal tragedy into my own triumph, and how we can all challenge ourselves and others to do a little bit better.”

O’Neil’s remarkable personal story will motivate and teach adults how to foster a positive environment and better guide disadvantaged children in a way that will lead to a healthier sense of self worth. The book is also an opportunity to reach a wider audience, with the aim of helping children see their own worth and potential.

I understand the tone & intent behind your question but WWE wants to sell books, of course they'll promote it. They will over-promote it if anything

Titus O'Neil On His New Book Being A Teaching Tool - Wrestlezone.com

Titus O’Neil was a recent guest on the Pod Of Awesomeness with Edge and Christian and talked about his upcoming book, There’s No Such Thing As a Bad Kid: How I Went from Stereotype to Prototype. Titus says the book title comes from a sentence he heard while attending the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, and talked about how it changed his life.

“I was told that in the midst of me possibly being dismissed from the ranch, and many there didn’t want me to stay. One staffer there told me that he believed in me, and that was the first time anyone had ever said that to me.”

“You’ll learn a lot about me in a very short period of time in the book. It’s more a teaching tool for anyone who deals with kids in any capacity. I’ve truly come to believe that there’s no such thing as a bad kid. There are people making bad decisions in bad situations around bad influences and they’re having bad outcomes. You take those same people and put them in a good environment and they’ll have better outcomes.

This is not a wrestling book. WWE is what I do for a living, it’s not who I am for a living. I felt the same way about football. I wasn’t a football player, I played football. At some point, my wrestling days will come to an end. Who I am for a living will continue for the rest of my life. I want people to understand that there’s no such thing as a bad kid, and those kids grow up into adults. They can also change.”
