Almost nothing on a car is that hard to do. The problem is you have to have the tools and equipment to do the shyt. :usure:

I tried to do the job myself. and I couldn't break the bolts cuz I don't have a breaker bar :snoop:. and my jack wouldn't go high enough. I ended up calling the mobile mechanic from around the way and he took care of it. it's been ten days with no car and I was over it at this point.

buddy had to lift my car HIGH as hell to get that starter out.

Get a Denso starter if you don't want to do the job twice; that's what came on the car I think. Oh yeah..do NOT forget to disconnect the battery unless you like living dangerously. A flex head ratchet and maybe a swivel socket are going to be your friend. It's doable just take your time and be patient. One thing though before you take it all apart -- be sure the ground strap that the starter uses isn't corroded or broken; it looks like a green braided wire similar to rope material. If that wire is broken or corroded, you may not need a starter. Just a heads up.

the battery definitely had been disconnected ever since I figured out the starter was shot.

I still got another project to tackle. my backup camera went out not too long ago. I can DEFINITELY do that one, so I will be tackling that one myself after I order the cam.
What kind of whip do you have?

Be careful dealing with the interior plastics; they sometimes scratch easily and the plastic push pins will break if you aren't careful.

Between a basic ODB reader, YouTube, and RockAuto, DIY never felt cheaper and easier.

Even AliExpress can help you out. I picked up a cracked VCDS+Dongle (VW/Audi shyt) for $20 with no car limit instead of the original $200 and 3 car limit. Worked flawless.

At this point it’s really just “do I have the right tools and time/energy?”
