Calling attention to Trayvon is a very good point and something I actually hadn't considered. The obviousness of the injustice, the way it played out on social media and the fact that a lot of more naive individuals thought things would play out differently resulted in a lot of disillusionment.OP one thing I can sorta piggy back off your point and say is that I really do feel like the Trayvon Martin case kind of re-invigorated a lot the racial discourse in both America and on this forum.
We are nowhere near as....agressive as I'd like us to be....but people are clearly more enlightened than they were say 2 years ago.
Ultimately, Zimmerman walked, barely any laws were changed, whites for the most part dug in their heels and continue down their predictable racist track....but a lot of black eyes were opened by that shyt. You could say that we got a nikka Re-Wake-Up Call.
Don't know why it dissapoints me that so many people actually bought in to post-racial America in the first place.
