It’s not gonna work but why is WWE doing this now? I feel like they really could’ve put a dent in them during the whole brawl out fukkery era but instead they were putting on really good tv in 2022-2023.

Fast forward to 2025 and WWE’s product stinks and AEW is putting on their best shows since 2021, so the constant counter programming confuses me.

When it comes to TNA, if TNA actually had their shyt together 15 years ago, there may not be an AEW, and I can’t even say WWE tried to kill TNA, they did that themselves, and that’s probably why WWE spiraling trying to stunt AEW’s growth, despite the slippage they had, they managed to get out of that and WWE hates that, they hate that they have a major tv deal, they hate that they have some of the best wrestlers in the world on their roster, they hate that they can sell out major arenas for PPVs and put 30k in American stadiums. Is it because they feel AEW will overtake them? No, that’ll never happen. It’s because they want to be the only game in town, they want to control the wrestling ecosystem.

TK kept poking the bear. This is their lick back. I’m just happy TNA is getting some shine again.

Definitely. It's about trying to drive the wrestler's wages down. If people really cared about the wrestlers, they'd want a strong #2 around with deep pockets because that's the only way wrestlers can negotiate for better deals. TKO is the same parent company that pays UFC fighters like shyt. That's the game.

I'm sure the AEW fanclub will welcome this. More competition in wrestling is good, right? :jbhmm:

I don't care who buys what. I have no control over it. I'll keep watching AEW until it's gone. Which probably isn't going to happen anytime soon. The Fertitas are scummy. They have a lot of say in local politics and development in town. I don't support anything they do.

So this was part of the "partnership" all along :pachaha:

WON: WWE has the option for a certain length of time to buy TNA, as part of their working relationship.

When asking around about this, we were able to get a WWE source confirm what many had suspected since the working agreement started, and that was the working deal with TNA is similar to the deals WWE had offered various European groups (wXw, OTT, RevPro, Progress) years ago when they offered to allow some European talent on the shows. The deal offered, that every company at the time accepted but RevPro, was that they would also supply tapes of their shows for the WWE Network and that there was a time frame where WWE had the option to purchase the promotion.

Honestly it’s not that serious. WWE being petty but it’ll make everyone better in the long run. Both companies boring right now
Ones who are complaining don’t even watch TNA what are they so worried about :pachaha:

I would love to see TNA on a better network but it just sucks that if the story is true there just being sent on a dummy mission :francis:

Was Tony Khan paying TV stations to drop ROH and NJPW's programming and air them instead? Was Tony Khan threatening cable companies that he'd pull AEW's pay-per-views if they aired ROH and NJPW, and when cable companies told him to never pull a stunt like that again he aired a special against their PPV when he didn't get his way? Was Tony Khan threatening venues if they hosted ROH and NJPW shows? Did he run shows in the same towns drectly against ROH and NJPW shows? Did he threaten to by out ROH and NJPW offices? Was he giving wrestlers signing bonuses if they left ROH and NJPW without giving notice?

Oh, he didn't do any of that shyt? Then what are we talking about?

There's a big difference between signing available talent and directly interfering with a company's ability to draw money. Companies are gonna spend what they can spend and talent is gonna take what they can.

Oh lemme guess, AEW was in the wrong from the beginning because they put Dynamite on NXT's night? NXT, the on-demand web series that only got a fraction of its viewership from the live premiere:mjgrin:
None of the "Tony killed ROH like Vince killed the territories" guys are acknowledging this

I try to watch TNA sometimes but it’s just not that good to me, although Slammiversary wasn’t bad

If TNA was a better product I’d actually be looking forward to this, like NXT in 2019 when I watched both NXT and Dynamite

every company at the time accepted but RevPro,

And who was just about the only promotion left standing when WWE took the last chopper out of Saigon?

Who has the most recognised "Undisputed British Championship" under their brand?

Everyone else had to build back up from the ground but RevPro kept their IP, their tape library, their venue relationships and nearly all the good-will in the scene.

Quildan knows ball.

They trying to counterprogram dynamite but they gonna be counterprogrammed themselves. They better worry about fixing NXT cuz starting this season the NBA has a new media contract. Before they were on TNT which has about 70 million subscribers and now they moving to NBC on Tuesday nights which has about 110 million. Def gonna affect things with more people able to access the games. Not to mention it being on Peacock as well.

Not sure if early games of the season will be as big but as playoff hunt draws closer, likely see an increase in viewers that could draw away from NXT. Especially if it's major media market teams like the Knicks and Celtics that tend to be in the hunt.

Yep, why doesn't WWE move Raw or Smackdown to Wednesday nights then? Since they fear no competition? :jbhmm:
