Yes they have. You hear it before games from former players and professional announcers doing the game like "PG and Westbrook are great defenders." I have heard this from Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson, JVG, etc. You have the guys on first take for example talking how great of a defender Westbrook is e.g. Stephen A Smith. So I am puzzled on how he got this reputation. Because he gets a couple of deflections and steals?Nobody has ever said Westbrook is a great defender

I don't think he is a good defender. The best thing Westbrook does on defense is get steals and deflections. That's about it. Everything else I have seen are blown assignments, not fighting over screens, etc. Just defensive mistakes in general throughout the game. Roberson was able to cover up Westbrook's mistakes on defense but now Roberson is gone.
