To be honest, I doubt we'll ever see another player on the level of Kobe/lebron/mj

We'll never see another Iverson because we'll never see another 6 ft shooting guard given the freedom to shoot terribly all season long.

Kobe is 6'6 and his career FG percentage isn't that much better than Iversons and he played on much better teams. :beli:I don't know why people act like Iverson wasn't a great outside shooter and even better finisher inside. He just had to take a lot of tough shots because he's was a "6ft shooting guard" who was his teams only scoring option.

Iverson > Kobe as a pure scorer.:leon:

Uhhh, fukkin' right :beli:.

If he doesn't go down as one of the best defenders of all time then it will be out of total laziness and a lack of dedication to the game. He should be more of a beast on D, but he has yet to establish any semblance of dominance in that area of his game.

He should not have any comparisons to Lebronze until then, the same goes for Melo too :birdman:

This makes no sense. And why would you even mention Melo in a conversation about defense :laff:

KD shyts on Melo offensively anyway :laff:

Iverson doesn't get an excuse for shooting shyt percentages because he was short.

My whole point is that they aren't shyt until they beast on defense, especially KD. He has the length, the agility, the athleticism and the speed to guard all 5 postions, but he can't. It's actually an insult to Bronze to be mentioned with those bums at this point

Defense is a lot more than physical attributes

We havent even had a center better than wilt, and his prime was way back in the 60s.

now when i say player like MJ, kobe, bron, i mean a player who can do it all.

Not just 30ppg, but 35+ppg, 7+ rebounds a game, 6+apg, 2+ steals a game.

Winning scoring titles, all while making defensive first team.

A player who can drop 50 points one night, then shut down your best scorer the next night.
Lets keep it real, durant is not that type of player.

I think if there was another player like that, we wouldve met him by now.
MJ got drafted in 84, kobe got drafted in 96, lebron in 03. Almost 11 years later and no player has come close to being the type of player those 3 are. I mean I guess you got Tmac, so its unfortunate how his career turned out.

Tons of players put up stats that Lebron/Kobe/MJ have, so it's not like they're anamolies. Lebron has never even averaged 35ppg.

Wilt, Oscar, Stockton, Dennis are the anamolies. Hell, will we ever see a 27+, 12+, & 3+bpg big again?

but he always gets praise for being a great scorer despite his size? :manny: Either way he's the best scorer all time for his size. Lets see another 6 foot shooting guard lead the league in scoring just once. It'll never happen. We'll never see another Iverson.

Iverson was a horrible outside shooter. You could leave him open for anything outside of 15'. Good finisher, I'll give you but he got hella ish ate at the rim. His speed was his greatest asset, which is why he fell off so much once it left. He did have a good midrange, but that n!gga never wanted to use that ish. He also was terrible at playing off the ball, but he could surely break you off the dribble and get his shot off. Even with all of that, he was a great scorer for his size.

I disagree. When MJ was around, no one foresaw Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. After the fact, we are believers. So, when it comes to the future, we don't know who out there is the next superstar. But, with the way high school and college players are groomed for success, the NBA will never be short of superstars who rise to the challenge.

:manny: Not my fault that they're one dimensional and suck at defense

dude might weigh 200 lbs, and u expect him to guard players with a 50+ weight advantage over him because he's tall. That's why the post sucks. You seem to lack basic sense on how basketball works

:what: Who said he had to overpower or even body dudes? His length and wing span is enough to bother anybody at any position, stop it
