To be honest, I doubt we'll ever see another player on the level of Kobe/lebron/mj

Out here in my damn drawls
there's more to defense then length and wingspan :camby:

Any it's more than overpowering and gettin' big with them too :camby: :camby:. Plenty of great defenders deficient in size, height and strength used what they had and they make this dude look lazy, imo. Durant was gifted with these tools (especially the wing span) and he rarely uses it to his advantage :smh:

He wasn't a good defender in those years though.

yet he was voted all-defensive first team each year by the coaches AND was polled by GMs on NBA.com as one of the top 3 perimeter defenders in the game

but you right....forget what coaches and GMs say.....I'll take your word for it that he wasn't a good defender in 06-09 :stopitslime:

but he always gets praise for being a great scorer despite his size? :manny: Either way he's the best scorer all time for his size. Lets see another 6 foot shooting guard lead the league in scoring just once. It'll never happen. We'll never see another Iverson.

That has more to do with lack of opportunity for other players than it does lack of ability.

All D teams are a popularity contest and have been for over a decade.

You can't find a single metric that says Kobe has had a positive impact on defense since 03. If he was good there would be some sort of evidence, there is for everybody else that's a good defender.

any 6 foot or under player who had the ability to do what iverson did wouldn't lack opportunity. Even taller players have the opportunity and cant do what AI did. Kyrie Iriving pretty much had a green light the past two years. He's one of the best pgs in the game and probably the closest thing to Iverson (size and skills wise) and never averaged anything near 30 ppg and he probably never will.

If Kyrie sacrificed all of his efficiency he could put up 30 a game. So could several other players.

no doubt Kyrie could (if he stayed healthy) but could he put up 30 a game and lead his team to the NBA finals? I know Kyries a little taller than AI but what other player 6 foot and under could score 30 a game in the NBA today, Isiah Thomas......Ty Lawson? :bryan:

Dream is better than Wilt.

Yes he is......I dont wanna have to go dig up the old thread on how Hakeem > Wilt again:ohlawd:

How Hakeem got more 30+ point playoff games, in less games, than "greatest scorer ever" Wilt Chamberlain though?:what:
