If you're trying to get him near females, I hear some things about Texas Southern (which is virtually right across the street from U of Houston) and Prairie View A&M. Especially PVAM.

My bad they must have went up in the last couple of years its $7,084 still pretty cheap. UCLA is around 12k something.

If possible for you guys thinking about college. Move to Cali go to a CCC, we get priority is CSUs and UCs plus you get in state tuition cost, thats what my nephew is doing now he moved out here from Chicago. a lot of the UCs had Tag programs which gives you guaranteed admission to them if you complete certain classes and have like a 3.0 or something. UCSD, UCLA, and Berkeley dont have those agreements tho...just an option HBCUs are cool too.

UC prices are similar to CUNY prices. UCLA cheaper than Binghamton University . That's actually a great deal.

I know i was going to apply to Columbia, my chem teacher went there and was gonna write me a letter of recommendation, but i start factoring in price and said fukk that shyt UC Berkeley is top notch too and recognized around the world, so ill be good anywhere plus i can always get my MBA from Columbia latter since grad school is going to be expensive no matter what

I agree with this statement to an extent. I don't know if it's possible to go to CAC free university and have those amazing resources; but people should be more aware of the racial demographics of the colleges and universities they attend. I recommend people do this.

I went to Alcorn St. which is in the middle of nowhere in Mississippi. There was alot more smashing going on due to the ready availability of underage liquor from the local mom and pop stores and nothing to do with nowhere to go

I wouldnt even consider UCR, but I guess it depends on the major you are looking at.
Whites at most UCs are around like 30% of the population, at some its around 15% its not like these UCs are over run with them. Good Luck at whatever HBCU you end up attending, I understand the desire to go to a school majority black, I was thinking long and hard about it, but Im going to college to improve my $$ and networking options. I'd rather go to a school like UCLA and join the BSU than to go to one of these colleges with a 75+% acceptance rate. Seeing people get into SDSU with a 2.9 makes me not even want to accept the admissions offer even tho their business department is pretty good. Some of my cousins went to Howard tho, if I have kids they probably will for undergrad.

Outside of the gorgeous black women discussion.... I have to axe this misconception that HBCU students are not competitive in the workforce as their counterparts.

I went to a public HBCU because the cost of tuition for the level of education was a steal . I was an out of state student on scholarships and graduated without debt. The College of Business at my school had a good staff, good reputation, and attracted alot of employers. What people forget is, the same major companies that people claim you need to attend a PWI to work for, aggressively recruit at HBCUs to maintain a diverse workforce.

Now certain HBCU attract more companies than other....based on reputation and productivity of former students at the respective companies. For example, in college we went to an accounting conference which contained black students from HBCUs and PWIs. We attended various workshops and were interviewed by potential employers. Students from alot of PWIs in attendance were not properly dressed for interviews and were not prepared at all to interact in a business environment. . At that point....the name of the school on your resume is irrelevant. I tell people all the time...if you go to an HBCU with a STRONG program in your major (its not about the overall school, just the strength in your major)...you will be just as prepared and competitive as a candidates from the majority of other schools in the nation.
