mostly mainstream stuff for my mom and surprisingly "local" talent like Twista, Common etc.
looking back it's crazy how diverse the mainstream was seeing as how they both liked rap, but had different taste in artist.now that I think about, they had a lot of love for Cali artist too and we're from the Chi.

Well I'm almost 31, so I don't know if I qualify for "younger brehs". My mom thought Hip hop was the worst music ever. You know how it was back in the day. Though she loved "Hit Em High" which was very random.
My dad wasn't a rap head but he listened to whatever was popular rap at the time: MC Hammer, Snoop, Arrested Development, Fresh Prince & Naughty By Nature. To this day, my dad's favorite hip hop joint is "Hip Hop Hooray".

I'm 24 but my parents didn't listen to rap beyond the radio. I don't think they owned a rap CD besides The Black Album. They were heavy into R&B but mostly just played the radio
