I am seriously thinking of buying a Wii U just for this game, because the Switch is sold out and i do not really have the patience to wait till its in-stock
Just wait for it to be back in stock. This is the last Nintendo game being released on the Wii U and Nintendo games rarely go on sale so you'll be paying full price for the other Wii U exclusives (Smash, MK8, Mario Maker, XCX). They'll be coming to the Switch eventually so it makes more sense to get the Switch.

It's nice dude..but this launch is weak as fukk, ESPECIALLY as a Wii U owner. I have BOTW. I have Mario Kart 8. There is 0 motivation for me to invest in this until Mario Odyssey drops.

Check eBay. WiiU should be cheap, although I'm sure the price will rise with the release of this new Zelda

Whatever helps you sleep at nightYou make it sound like playing on the Wii U is a downgrade. Yall know this was made for the Wii U and the Switch version is just a remaster right? It was pushed back just so it could be released at the same time as the Switch.
It's the equivalent of Sony pushing back The Last of Us (I know they didn't) on the PS3 so they could released it at the same time as the PS4. Same epic game, one just runs at a better frame rate.

The Switch first year lineup is going to be better than the Wii U's entire run with the exception of Mario Maker, which I think is going to make the jump.
