He's only 22 so it's a given that this kid is going to get paid this summer, kind of surprised the Magic didn't offer him an extension but I guess they'll match as long as nobody gets too crazy. Their competition for him will be the Raptors, Hawks and Pistons, all 3 teams in need of SFs but I think they should be able to keep him. You can really tell Melo is his favorite player, but it seems like he can actually play within a team concept. I expect him to cool off from 3, since he's a career 31% 3 point shooter, but even then I don't really see his production coming down too much.

The Pelicans have to be kicking themselves, they're weighed down with Evans & Gordan as their 2/3, meanwhile Butler and Harris are going to be free agents this summer :dead:

I think lakers will be looking at him too we need a sf badly.

word, we didn't get the original, give us Melo jr. :feedme:

But with this front office we're somehow gonna end up with a sf version of Carlos Boozer though, I already know it. I don't even know who it is yet but I'm sure we can find a washed up sf who doesn't play defense somewhere in the league.

Yeah forgot they had caproom coming up, I would guess Rondo is probably on the Lakers short list as well, but whatever they go after in FA is probably dependant on who they get in the draft.

If they get Johnson in the draft, they probably go after Rondo, if they get Mudiay they go after Harris, Okafor / Towns and they make the decision for a PG.

I like him but I think someone is going to over pay for him, realistically I think he is best as your 4 option(possibly 3rd option on the right team). I think he would be best used for team where he starts SF, but plays in spots as a PF. I actually think coming off bench in Memphis play 30 mins and spots for Zbowould be a perfect role for him

This kid is a starter, only 55% of his offense is assisted, considering his age and his efficiency in scoring that is pretty good. You put him in the starting 5 on that Memphis team and they win a title.

Why did Orlando fail to re-sign him?

Supposedly they offered him $9 million a year, and he wanted $12 million. Also gonna go out on a limb and say Aaron Gordon was/is their insurance policy in case he leaves.

Why would they be down? You guys act like its so hard to trade a player away. Look how easy Houston got rid of the so called unmoveable contracts of Lin and Asik.

Gordon can be moved. The pels gave up a lottery pick for Asik because they plan on keeping him around long term to keep Davis at the four. Their 4 and 5 is set.

They should be down because the team they have assembled is complete garbage outside of Asik and Davis, had they stood pat and done nothing but preserve caproom and kept draft picks they'd be in a much better position.

Your Rockets had to give up a first rounder and a 2nd rounder just to trade Lin, and Asik had value even with his contract. Nobody is trading for Gordon without getting a pick, and the Pelicans have already given up enough of those.
