Today I learned that America held blacks in concentration camps after slavery. Our history is still untold.

The scary thing is there is probably a bunch of undocumented things that happened in America and other colonized countries to our ancestors. Many of the things that happened, most likely didn't get passed down to future generations because tough to relive trauma

I'm convinced a lot of people on here hate black history because it paints all white people in a bad light and they can't "dnc vs rethug" it. They'll just simply ignore a thread like this.

Nobody wants to hear about negative shyt all the time.

Doesn’t need to be all the time. But history that is rarely known should be spread

Especially when American history would have you thinking we were slaves, got freed, went thru civil rights & now we’re here.

These type of stories along with our success should be taught to mold future generations on what we can/have accomplished. On what the other side is really capable of.

This is why it is imperative that we gather all of our history and make sure our descendants know it. People who do not know their history are doomed to experience it again eventually. We already have one Party working to make sure those of us ignorant about the wrongdoings done to us remain ignorant. So it is our duty to make sure that ignorance is not allowed to stand. We can't depend on the government to do it, since it is in the best interest of the government that many of us remain in the dark about the past.

I pride myself in knowing alot about FBA history and I never even heard of this. This is why they want to ban black history in schools.

Reparations due!

OP, read about Contraband Camps during and after the Civil War...

African American mortality SPIKED immediately after the Civil War. Perhaps as much as

How the end of slavery led to starvation and death for millions of black Americans

After combing through obscure records, newspapers and journals Downs believes that about a quarter of the four million freed slaves either died or suffered from illness between 1862 and 1870. He writes in the book that it can be considered "the largest biological crisis of the 19th century" and yet it is one that has been little investigated by contemporary historians.
