Today's athlete is not physically better than prior athletes.

GMO's, weakened genetics/dna, and poor nutrition has these young dudes of today breaking limbs and looking weak.

Not strong, not faster, not smarter, just access to MORE coaches.

Today's athlete has access to better nutrition, better medical care, better supplementation, better equipment and more sophisticated training regimens.

If you're going to compare that to an athlete in 1960 with no context, then sure. There is no comparison.

It's not so much that athletes today are better than the past out of some kind of inherent birthright. They just reap the benefits of what we have learned.

That's progress.

The athlete of 1960 was naturally stronger

humans have not evolved, technology, training methods, nutrition, has evolved and it' s helped nurtured athletes of today better than their counterparts of yesteryear

unless you can find me a human being of wilt's height that was more athletic than he was or someone like Shaq, or bo jackson, or deion sanders

I believe playing almost year round (AAU + school) as a kid up until late teens plays a huge part in a lot of these athlete's injury problems today.

So yeah, an athlete in 1960 who played for 6 months a year would probably be more durable...not so much stronger IMO.

Humans haven't evolved but the overall population is higher, and we have much more resources to find these people. It's easy to assume that there was someone as athletic as Wilt who just didn't have the means to display these skills on the internet or call a scout.

Also the nutrition IS NOT BETTER

Fruits & Veggies packed more nutrients in 60s. There was also less filler in food back then.

GTFOH

you think these nikkas are eating wal mart veggies and meat bruh? :mjlol:

Pro athletes are only getting the best of the best food. More than likely all organic and cooked so that its giving them the most efficient nutritional value for their regiments

Nah.

Mahfukkas back in the 60s thought steak, potatoes, and veggies was all you needed.

Nowadays athletes have access diets and foods from all around the world. Nowadays if you want to eat lean and nutritional like the Japanese, you can literally hire a cook to prepare that type of food regularly. That type of convenience or research was not available in the 1960s.
