Fitz has a taker and it's the Jets. There's just no takers at his current asking price, which Im guessing changes by Wednesday.
Fitz has no takers.
If it's the Jers, they have all the cards knowing the rest of the league will give him no offers beside a team needing a qb if a starter goes down.
The Jets being the sole market shows just how much the rest of the league believe in him.

He's a time waster. Move on to the younger guys

Fitz had a good season last year but the Jets had an easier schedule (played AFC South and NFC East). What hurt Jets is their performance against Buffalo. Jets match up ok with New England and have ability to at least split with them. Jets gonna have to either sweep Miami or buffalo or at least not get swept. Their schedule is harder this coming season.

I do understand why they didn't wanna overpay Fitz when he may not be as successful next year but he was the best and most experienced out of what they have.

Roll with geno.

Fitz is a back up not a starter. He has no upside what so ever and limits the offense.

If geno shows no improvement he's gone at the end of the year and hack gets his chance next year with a vet brought in cheap.

Geno Smith is a better fit in Chan Gailey's offense than Morningwheg's offense, not to mention Chan Gailey is one of the few guys who actually COACHES the QBs. The Jet's have nothing to lose in seeing what the guy is made of with the weapons on deck the Jets have now. Geno has all the physical tools the question is can he put it all together mentally?

you play 16 games. The season is never lost unless there's injuries. Just look at KC and Seattle last year. Jets drew a shytty first month but unless there's significant injuries its generally a week to week sport.

FiveThirtyEight says we have the 2nd overallhardest schedule in the league so I tend to think @trementhustler1 is correct. For all intents and purposes Geno is fukked. Even if he is a good starter and beats weak/middling teams, our schedule is such a death trap that there is little he can do.

I think he has a great arm though and even though he's not a scrambler, he can move in the pocket, and he can get you a few yards upfield. Also I've seen him make a few throws many 'game managers' can't. It's just now he's in something of a position to succeed now that he didn't have before.

We'll be able to decipher if we're getting good QB play but still losing.
