It's the same answer I give when a player gets his brain mushed into goop and wants to come back in the game despite any sane person believing otherwise: it's the life they chose. If you don't love the sport that much, it will be very easy to walk away the first big hit you wind up getting.
That said, what you're saying is why these parents got their kids trying to figure out another sport to be good at.
It's like porn: the company and the viewer will be more interested in the porn chick that looks she's way into it than the one that is obviously faking it.

This is exactly why I said the NCAA did him a favor with the suspension. He should have just got ready for the combine for this exact reason. Now he's has to rehab the ACL and hope that this doesn't effect his draft position.

I'm not so sure about that. He's a young guy and ACL's these days aren't career killers. I think he may be able to go late first round even with the injury.
