An 18-month-old girl has drowned on the same day her mother gave birth to her baby brother, police said.
Authorities in Ohio said the toddler, Jaylynn Adamson, had been staying with a relative while her mum was in hospital.
The little girl was found in the pond on Friday morning, said Lieutenant Jason Dutton of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
She was pronounced dead at the same hospital where her mother later gave birth to a boy.
"Everybody's kind of wrapped up in the death and the birth," David Adamson, an uncle of the children's father, told The Columbus Dispatch newspaper.
Police have not released details on the girl's drowning, pending an investigation.
