Showrunner: What if we have a show set in Tokyo 1999, exploring the Yakuza. Characters would include a veteran Japanese cop, a young guy in the Yakuza dealing with the brutality and struggles with loyalty, a young American woman that's involved with multiple people in the dark side of Tokyo as a club owner, a Japanese female reporter dealing with sexism, and a bunch of Yakuza bosses in a gang war.

How I felt about Netflix's Marco Polo, I like it but it to got the point where everyone around Polo was way more interesting and even though he's the titular character it felt like it was really Kublai Khan's show.
