AB and to a lesser extent Gronk wasn't in the league because they were washed up. We know why AB had been out of football and Gronk retired on his own terms because various injuries took a tole on his body. If what was left of Jason Witten was on football team this past season I'm quite sure Gronk would've been on some teams roster if he didn't retire when he did.

I never said washed up but being away from the game for more than 12-14 months affects your play, you dont just come in ready to go especially in the NFL.
